Simon Jain at This Is London (and Bad Boy Bill too)

Simon KILLED BadBoyBill!!!!! Totally rocked the place. Very very unfortunate that he only had 1.5 hours to play :( He should have been the headliner!!

The crowd looked nice... they weren't near capacity, but still the dancefloor and downstairs area was packed!

I had a great time :D

Oh yeah... Bad Boy Bill was alright. He sounded different, and I just wasn't feeling it. I think he's getting old ;)

YOU WERE THERE..???

just got home... was there from start to finish.

Addy played a LONG SET, but it was good. He really got the crowd pumped for Bill.
Bill came on.. i almost made a bet with Mikey that BadBoyBill would start off as the usual. "" BabBoyBill is in the Mix... "" He did but it had a little twist. He started off great, the set had it's ups and downs. The best track he played was the Metalica Remix.. forgot the name. I asked simon what track this was... every word that came out of his mouth was a big slur. Never got it, but, ill find it.

My fav trick bill did was play a whole record. Bring in the next track. But with track mixing out he starts spinning the record back, back, back back, as fast as he can go. Hand was a blur by the time he really got it going. Still going back faster during the build up of the song. Then he lets the record slow down on it's own and when it stops, the build up drops realeasing a dirty bassline that later, simon would use soo many times.. mmMmm..
Bill set was good, but how he was in the beginning he shouldve stayed that way....

MR. SIMON stole the show from bill. Simon was hopping all over the place. Standing on the Dj booth clapping getting the crowd into it. His music was DIRTY, VOCALLY, QUIRKY, HOUSEY, PUNKISH, GRUNGE.. i don't know how else to desrcibe it. I knew he would do great.. but fuck.. thats the best ive ever heard him play.

I was nice and snug right beside the dj booth watching all the dj's. Didn't feel like dancing and was in a perfect spot to watch which is what I do. While Simon was playing, phantasm was giving names of every track b4 simon plays it. Just hyping it up for me.. Lost my voice, screaming ONE MORE, ONE MORE.

Good Night was had.. ohh soo tired..

wow, GREAT night. tunes, crowd, staff (super friendly), the whole pkg. Addy's opening had me up and on the floor almost immediately.

track of the night for me was most def Axwell's Feel the Vibe. heh, not particularly mind-blowing, just something about it gets my hands intheair. at that point the mode was set.

feets were kill'n by the end. had to stay until the finish though! the night definitly belonged to Simon!!

Were you there?

If so, maybe a more intelligent response about why you didn't like his set wouid be helpful.

Can you do intelligence or just snappy response?

That the Steve Angello remix/mashup of Enter Sandman with Erick Morillo's "dancin"

There was a lot of Steve Angello tracks last night... tracks he produced... tracks he produced with ingrosso... tracks he produce under Who's who... and remixes... he must be the hottest/most played producer in the biz over the past year...

Got there around 2.

Bill was on already. Pumping out some electroish beats. He played till about 3:45ish. I didn't really like his set. This is the third time I have seen him this year and the other two times were amazing. So I was a little let down.

Simon Jain was up next and I have to say did a better job than Bad Boy Bill (this coming from someone who doesn't even really like the prog sound). I danced more to Simon's set than I did to Bill's. And in the end, that is what matters most to me.

That is two good nights I have had at This is London. I see no reason to not keep going back for more events there.

One pet peeve note: Removing the bottle caps from the water bottle. Last week when I was there, they didn't do this. This week however, weren't allowed to keep the cap.

Oh and nice to finally meet you Ev.

I was SUPER impressed with This is London last night. Gorgeous venue and incredibly wicked staff. From the moment we got there, we breezed in with no problems. Nothing but good vibes from whoever worked there. It was the antithesis of the guv. Hard to believe both clubs are owned by the same people.

Music wasn't really my thing so I left around 4am. Sorry to have missed Simon Jain though.

I'll defintely be back for Desyn Masiello.

Still waiting for the hangover to lift

this is like neverending hangover, i ate 7 times today, i had 5-6 powernaps, 15 tylenols and i still feel like shit.

honestly, i dont remember fuck all from last night. i do remember awesome avenue, friendly bouncers, that sexiest asian girl ive ever laid my eyes on (good lordy....), my sisters boyfriends cousins who got me 10 tequilas as a "welcome to the family" gift and then....

pitch dark. im serious, i have no idea who was the dj last night lol.

im never drinking again.

p.s. i met a girl named melissa, found her phone number in my pocket, called her today and she told me that i had fun last night LOL

LOL.. maybe the hangover is long gone. But youre purposely making yourself go to bed. Sleep excessive hours after the party hours.. not gonna work. Cure.. go out again.. or just lay there like a zombie. Rule one.. ALWAYS PLAN FOR THE DAY AFTER
