shooting at george brown?

One suspect is in custody, a search is on for another, and a college has been dismissed for the day, after gunfire rocked the downtown core late Friday morning. The drama began just before the noon hour, after an apparent drive-by shooting in the Church and Gerrard area. Reports indicate as many as five shots may have been fired, but no one was hit.
The suspects took off in a car, but police made an arrest of another man they believe could be the driver a few minutes later. But a second male, thought to be armed, got away.
He apparently fled into the St. James campus of the nearby George Brown College at King and George Sts., which was surrounded and locked down by heavily armed E.T.F. officers.
An estimated 2,000 students streamed out of the building, and were sent home for the day. But it’s also possible the suspect could have been lost in that departing crowd or escaped out of a side entrance. So far, police haven’t found any sign of him.

When i was there 3 years ago, some chick got raped. Of course... rumour was, she was dressed rather provocatively and she lured the guy.
Of course... I went to the Casa Loma campus, and that really had no effect on me. Seeing as how Casa Loma was full of computer geeks, fashion freaks and hairstylists... with a mish-mash of carpentry, drama and phys.ed students to fill in the voids.

Hmmm, I would argue that a rapist doesn't want a challenge, so he (a he most likely) would attack someone who appeals to their eyes rather than you're librarian prude or well-covered.
I don't think he meant all girls who dress provocatively are asking to be raped, but you do open yourself up to invitations more easily that way.

I was there then and it was 4 or 5 years ago.
She was sexually assaulted in the Stair well. They grabbed her and pulled her to the other side of the building. That didn't happen at St. James. It happened at the hospitality building which is right across the street. There were flyers on every stair well. We had to walk the stair wells bc the elevators sucked. My mom told me to hold my keys in my hand when i was walking through the stair wells.
oh i forgot to say tha im on the student council here at fleming and lately we have been talking about campus safety.
Did you know that at humber college some guy burst into a residence there carrying a kitchen knife? talk about scary.
I told everyone what happened with the sexual assault case as i was there then..

I took sign graphics then transfered to Desktop Publishing after the first semester bc i hated it and that course was a year from Jan-August.

i just remember the details on the raping being very suspicious... Something to do with her knowing her rapist (of course, this is generally the case).
It didn't matter to me much, being Male and all. I switched schools anyway. Not that Centennial didn't have problems of it's own.... holy fuck. There were 5 sexual harassment cases in my first month there (this was at the automotive campus). Being a motorhead campus, the pre-nursing and general arts students were somewhat out of place there. Most of the girls didn't like the comments and soon there were rules and shit placed.. but they didn't help. Of course, when the motorheads couldn't harass a girl, they'd harass guys. Call them fags and such.

Meanwhile, at Main Campus, there were problems with muggings and crap.

I went to Centennial for General Arts and Sciences. I felt that getting into a Trade was stupid, and that if i was going to college, it was to do it to go onto better things... like University.

I went to the Progress Campus about 7 or 8 years ago. Crime was pretty bad there, esp theft.
I lost my timestable once, and the same day I noticed, my entire belongings were stolen from my locker. They knew when I'd be in class. Stoopid Scarboro
