Hey Drunkard, he said rinse!

I wish I was up and dance more, but my head hurt so much. Though if I was moving around I wouldn't have had that 2 hour sitting with Dan, which was fun. Met lots of people, forgot lots of people's names. (Not you Lori!!) Fun was had by all!!

Thanks to everybody that made it out.
You guys all made it truly a wicked experience for our 1 year anniversary.
We made it through a year and always due to your support. Thanks to all our DJ's who all played awesome sets as well as the DJ's who have performed for us in the past.
Thanks to everybody in our crew who spent hours decorating the opera house to how you all saw it. I was even surprised when I walked in Saturday afternoon and saw what an amazing job everyone did.
Thanks again to everyone who made this nite truly epic!

*Speaking on behalf of Brad as well, but I'm sure he'll have more to say hehe*

My day started off kinda crummy, and I needed a pick me up - this was definatly what I needed.

Of course, the boys at Serenity have done it again ... and this time bigger and better than ever. The place was ram packed ... I had never seen the Opera House so kickin' in a LONNNNNG time. The decorations were hype, and total graffiti art styles... I love it.
smile.gif

Anyways, the sets were awesome from what I heard. I have never danced some hard for trance/nu nrg in my life (thank you Chris, Donny and Subsonic) I was totally diggin' Big League Chu's set... I love singing along to break songs that I kno!! ... but SOMEONE *coffShanncoff* dragged me off into the 19+ room for some good ol' drinkin' fun. None the less, I have some great friends who got me nice and drunk ... and took care of me in my drunken stooper (hahah - Alex you missed it ! And only by a little bit too ... you could have taken pictures for the issue ... **The next TRIBE ~ coop girl, drunk as hell .. bwhaha)

It was nice meeting some new people and some old friends for a change:

Lyndsey - thanks for all the drinks girl. You and me, Booty board drikin' crew .. say true?

Sean - The Revs... ohhh yeah baby!
smile.gif

Kellan - Please ... jus give it to me... *insert puppy dawg face here*

I'm kinda mad I missed Decepticon set.... Matt , I can't believe you didn't say hi to me at my wOrk. You bastard... another day, another time. Remember - Ima gunna cook for you one day. (lol)

Anyways, big up Serenity crew! You guys have a fine , fine future ahead of yOu.

Yes i decided to come out and see what Serenity was all about..All i have to say is THANK YOU!!!!!!I had a wicked time all my rave pals were there the breaks were amazing i love the new skool sound it's so much deeper then that cheezy old skool..Subsonic played one of the best sets i ever heard from him hope you do the same at Hulla.(i'm the one in the STEELERS hat)the security was nice enough to let me go on the stage and dance my ass off behind subsonic ..there was like no room to dance on the floor it was way to crowded in there, but i made my own space in front of the speakers.I was in shock when i heard frisky play trance .Whats that all about?? I hope he's changing his style cus he played amazing.Well i will forsure make it out to the next Serenity (the trance one)you guy's go all out and i love when companies put the effort into making the night special once again THANK YOU!!!!!!

Not bad...not bad at all. Yes there was a lot of crackers at the party but they can be ignored. EXCEPT when the keep getting in your dancing space. But that's what elbows are for. Muwahahaha. I thought the music was pretty good all the way through. Mmmmmm....Breaks. Not what I expected from Grooverobber but a good set non the less. D-monic and Dj X, props. I am never dissapointed by these two. Subsonic threw down an explosive nu-nrg set. Mmmmm.....nu-nrg. To the two racist ppl in the guys bathroom, you know who you are, your not wanted at parties. Except for these two, there was lot of cool peeps at this party. Great decorations, I was impressed. Overall an enjoyable evening. Props to Serenity for making my night so enjoyable.

good party all in all... it was way too packed though, but it did get better. Subsonic Chronic spun an amazing set... I came down to see frisky and D-minus and was pretty disapointed when I heard the trace... I love trace... jsut wasn't expecting it. DJ Vinn-E and Marty McFly also spun an amazing set, and I would like to see though too together again soon... the builds were awesome.

All and all I had a great time

It was a really sketchy party for me. I went there with no sleep, so I was really tired, and didn't really feel too up for socializing or anything. I managed to have alot of fun though, got to hang out with a cute girl
smile.gif

Grooverobber's set was madness, I went nuts with what little energy I had left, and by the time he was done it was all could do to stand up straight.

I like D-minus and Frisky's trancecore set... that made my night
wink.gif
I don't care what anyone says, trance (or something like it) is always needed.

Here's my review, it's late, it's long, but whatcha gonna do?

Se-ren`i-ty adv. se-rene 1) clear; unclouded 2) undisturbed; calm.

Given the preceding definition, the party I went to last night should have had a totally different name. Maybe something like “ The Super Crazy Chaotic beats and Shiney Happy People Party”. But Serenity it was, and “serene” it was not, but that’s not how we want things anyhow, now do we!

Now I can’t say I was really excited for this party, it was more just something to do on a Saturday night, but in not expecting anything, I was damn impressed. It was held at the Opera House, which really threw me for a loop, seeing as I hadn’t been to a party there since February 99, but it’s a pretty sweet set up for a one room party.

The decorations were fabulous, it was great to see some effort put into creating an atmosphere. The sound was fabulous, and as far as I can remember, it’s always been fantastic in that venue. It would have been pretty much perfect except for the wee ventilation problem on the top floor! Tooooast-ty! Can’t wait to see the pics of me with lovely beet red face. Yick!

I guess I could have hung out downstairs a bit more, but ho-lee-geez, someone invited a bunch of pre-schoolers. I know I’m not the only one that noticed how young the crowd was, and as much as I party, I just can’t get used to seeing fucked up little kids.

Besides it was TBK massive upstairs, and once again I had the pleasure of meeting so many delightful people. Thanks again, Jay aka “I swear I’m sober” for doing the intros. Although it’s hard to chit chat when your head is bouncin’ up and down to such fine funky breaks.

D-monic and DJ X played an incredible set, throwing down tons of tracks that made it impossible to stand still. Gotta love that Eurythmics remix, huh Svet? Now, I can’t dance for shit to breaks, something just takes control of me, and it’s all over from there, I can’t help myself. I must say though, there where some pretty styl-ee dancers there, I’m sure you all know who you are.

I was pretty hyped to see Grooveroober, who came on at around 1:30, and he definitely didn’t let me down. He kept us moving by tossin all kinds beats, from funky to breaky to housey and foolin around with the buildups. I was hoping to hear a bit of the wackier stuff he usually puts on his disks, but I guess you gotta play the crowd. Speaking of which, why the hell wasn’t anyone dancing? I mean there were a handful of hardcore people who didn’t stop the whole time I was there, but everyone else was mostly just standing around. Too much long weekend chaos I guess, I know I slowed down due to that. Damn blades.

Anyhow, I had to save the best for last, as much as Grooverobber impressed me, it didn’t prepare me for what was next. Subsonic Chronic, you rocked the motherfucking house guy. You took that lazy ass crowd and whipped it into a damn frenzy. Unreal. I had never heard an entire NuNRG (correct me if I’m wrong) set before, and it just left me wanting more. Too bad I had to result to head bobbing because my legs hurt so much. Props Pete, from what I saw you walked away with the best set of the night hands down. It was also the most entertaining, I mean no one else had their own go go dancers.

Overall, it was a great time, I only wish the wee ones were tucked into their bunny sheets at home, where they should have been.

Joanna
