i'm sure some of you have already seen this, but if not, some dude in england decided to sell a broken laptop (what was supposed to be a fully stocked p4 generation) with one of his old hard drives ...
... the guy who received it was pissed off because he was taken for 375 pounds (under $1000 CAN) but found that he was able to find (recover?) all sorts of files from the hard disk that was sent in the laptop ...
... including the guy's resume, personal photos, family photos, internet porn, 'porn' he took himself, his bank details, his parent's bank details, his passport scans (?) ...

if you already know about this story, there's actually something in this post for you too ... even though that revenge site seems clever and justified, the Scotland Yard doesn't think so, and are investigating the webmaster to perhaps charge him with a crime ... the kid that did the initial rip-off apparently has had his life ruined and is harassed often, which obviously sucks but he did of course bring this on himself ...
