Saw Nickleback last night...

not the biggest fan but managed to find tickets for some friends so we made a night of it!

The venue was pretty small (under 5000) and really was a nice, closeup feeling. Default opened up - they were great. The Stampede Grounds stops alcohol sales way too early so you always end up stockpiling heroin beers, which inevitably get spilled all over the place.... and even after a shower i reek of stale beer and smoke - true rock souveniers!!

Does anyone follow these guys? All i know is that they're from Alberta but all their bio's say Vancouver. During the concert they said somehting along of the lines of 'we'll always be Albertan Good to be home blah blah" but if that was the case they'd correct everyone who says they're from Vancouver, right?

Oh well... that kind of irked me.

back to being hungover and stinky.

nickelback own!

i seen them at the horseshoe for a free show the night before they left to live in america and steal all their money.

they called up the band that was doing a show that night and asked if they could open for them.. so they came out on stage, and rocked the joint apart.

they are a really talented band with great stage presence.

It's not as bad as the over saturation of cloned RnB/Hip Hop acts in the States....... Or boy bands for that matter.

True!

Think about these stupid rappers like Jay-z and Nelly that just talk about themselves the whole time.

Agreeed. And the guy from Nickelback got all pissy when Matt Good said the same thing in an interview.

almost all of the current 'commercial' rock bands are fucking garbage...

I could make a list of the bands that are getting so much attention but don't deserve it, but it'll take up a lot of room.

Overall, rock use to kick ass but now it seems like bands can't write a song...it all sounds tuneless to me.

You folks should have come out and saw my band on friday, and heard a half decent toronto band that plays good, catchy, riffy rock and roll with a brit sound to it.
Maybe next time.Guaranteed that you wont be dissapointed.

i have to wonder what makes the Dave Mathews Good Band any different than anyone else... he slammed Nickleback pretty good on MuchMusic and then everyone got all surprised when they struck back. I don't like any of them so I find it all pretty funny watching everyone get worked up about how crappy Nickleback is. I went to the concert because I had tickets... more fun than staying at home and bitching about it. You have to admit it was funny when the guy from Nickleback said, in Spin, that he'd never even heard of Matt Good until someone told him what was said.
