Satoshie Tomie @ System. Saturday May 5th.

Like a mob of crack whores going through withdrawl, insanity was the plan. Satoshie Tomie, came in and threw down four an astoshingly fun and funky 4 hr. set that still has my hair blown back. Unauthourized use of mindblowing tunes was let slip upon the jam packed crowd @ System, all hungry to hear the sweet melodies and palatating rhythms that were coming our way. And throw down he did; with dark, hard house/trance and techno, not letting up for a moment and riding the waves of excitement and enthusiam coming from the crowd. When he threw on his incredible Love In Traffic, I thought he had struck his peak, only to be proven wrong with remixes of Papua New Guinea and others to take the crowd up even higher than before. I had never been to System on a Saturday, but after tonight, I'll be a great deal less apprehensive to go.

Minister of one unstoppable night.

nice review. and thank you so much for EVERYTHING.
man i had too much red bull.

Yeah I had a great time. Different crowd on Saturday, but still up for having a good time. Satoshi was better than i expected, he threw down some wicked tunes. Sputnik anyone? not to mention Papa New Guinea. The only thing i did't like about him was his mixing style, it was pretty simple.

I was there, but I had to leave at 1:30... I didn't want to though, the music was actually really good!

But what's with serving Rev's in a glass with a slice of lime? Isn't that just morally wrong? It's a Rev for god's sakes! It's supposed to be in a cheesy plastic bottle!

There comes a time when one dj absolutely blows you away. Satoshie Tomie is that one man since Deep Dish.

A little hesitant to go out to see Satoshi Tomie on a Saturday night at System, thinking he would play more of a funky set. Boy, am I glad I decided to chance it.

If you closed your eyes and let the music take control of you, I almost felt like I was at Industry all over again. This was the sound of Industry.

Started off funky, however his third track in, he's into his dark, progressive trip, pounding track after pounding track, not letting up one bit. When he does, he brings you down with a funky track, and then boom, he's back on his dark side.

Excellent vibe all round, most importantly, the music was absolutely beautiful.

Thank you Satoshie Tomie.

BLOWN AWAY by TOMIE

Well this would have to be one of System's better nights out. Satoshie Tomie headlining their 1 year anniversary for Bang Saturdays. I knew that I couldn't miss it eventhough there were other venues to check out that same evening. Ah....Satoshie Tomie....thoughts run wild of his last appearance at Turbo and then before that Industry. The setting was right....with food and wine in the VIP lounge @ System and of course the oriental theme decor I knew it may be another one of those nights.

Progressive, progressive, progressive....it is word that is used more and more to describe this music. Satoshie knows how to take a croud of people on a journey of rhythms and beats. He was able to spin using tribal, techno, and some trance elements yet progressively building the music in the air disc by disc. I was enjoying myself and others were too. He was definately challenging as I heard unfamiliar tracks.

Moving up close to the turntable booth (ya know where you can see through the plexiglass) he is so precise yet calm. He's a master at work for sure.

Someone suggested that he could be the next Danny T.....after that night I thought that it could be possible.

Peace Party People

P.S. Kewl a free System CD and a T-shirt? Sweet!

WOW!

Satoshi blew me away! Amazing night, incredible tunes and nice people. Satoshi totally ripped into System with one wicked tune after another without a single let up. The absolute best night I have ever had there, bar none.
I was sure Satoshi's set would be great but it was even better than last fall at Turbo, didn't think he could top himself! A night not to be missed, I'm so glad I went - wow, wow, wow. The memory of the wonderful music still has me smiling

.

All that and a free CD, t-shirt, chocolate strawberries to boot.

Big-up to TBK representing: Silver Robot, Highsteppa, Che, Malglo and others: Susan and Jay.

I love it.... Mind Fuck!!

With the city now being saturated with DJ after DJ....Local after Local....Afterhours joint after Afterhour joint....It is good to know that there are others on the tribe board who appreciate good music, know their trax, and spend their money wisely!!

I did'nt really go specifically for Satoshi but I guess he was alright.

The highlight of the evening was when BLUEPRINT played a remix of Phil Collins-Suseudio of all things.....Damn thats some original shit. They also have an ill remix for Eddy Grants Electric Avenue.

Respect to BLUEPRINT for pushing the envelope with some funky retro shit.

peace and stay phokused.

Thanks for the props... you are too kind! Next time you're at system, please introduce yourself and let us buy you a drink at the bar, as a token of our thanks. If your curious, that was actually the original Phil Collins joint, mixed over the new Africanism beats.

Mr_Furious:
We (blueprint... which is 3 guys myself, mike k, and alan lo) play every saturday at system in the backroom, as well as our other residencies, Garage416 and Uproc@UnaMas. We have a website, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the address here as I haven't read the guidelines for this board (I'm new here
