and my first (much less ambitious) attempt...

note the alpha blended widgets on the right.. bottom one shows me current downstream traffic, top right shows total downloaded, uploaded, and unread emails, current temperature outside, weather.... and more to the left is CPU usage, memory usage, as well as bytes/sec for each of my two drives.

here's the coolmon section of my desktop..
the calender is a program called Rainlender.. it's really neat.
It even combines with your outlook tasks if you want.

adam, i like that nhl script.. is that from the coolmon site?

Yep..honestly, I forget exactly how I found it, but it was somewhere off the main site.
