What an excellent party!

We got there just before midnight: they switched the entrance so that you came in from the laneway, into the narrow part of the place, and had also moved the dj table: the setup worked waaaay better.

Jason Ulrich was playing a solid set when we settled in. Basic Soul Unit took his turn, then it was the man himself. And what a set he delivered!

Just amazing tracks, NO chestnuts, all great, soulful, funky house, put a HUGE grin on faces all around.

All kinds of good people there too; only a couple of purses/heels/camera types; the rest there to dance and really enjoy this terrific set.

Thanks to Stu, Jason and Adam for throwing such a great party. I want to hear this guy again!

Everything about this gig was on-point:

Venue, bar service, crowd, vibe, and most importantly, music.

Ulrich and Basic Soul Unit laid the foundations and Sadar Bahar demolished the joint with an onslaught of funky & soulful house.

There were moments when he'd play something that was so good, you could feel everyone around you being sucked into the vibe and losing it. Some transcendental energy up in there.

bit rammed by time i got there, but i found my spot upstairs where i could really move.

loved this one a lot! the music was so soulful. i also enjoyed seeing great people too. finally the best part was being able to get a grilled cheese on the dancefloor just before close. this is becoming one of my favourite bars.
