wow
i have to say
andy capp blew me away
his track selection was great.
mixing was on point!
why doesnt this man get more play around london and elsewhere?
a great house dj in my opinion.

amir, you should book him more often.
no offence but i think he is way better than greg benz

what i saw of lafleche was impressive, but only getting to stay for 45 mins of his set i cant really comment on how well the night went for his set.
Damn these early friday morning classes and work.

*skhakes fist at fridays*

back to work

Well it was a good night.

I on the other hand don't like Andy Capp at all. later in his set he started playing some better tracks, but that tribal/disco house thing is too slow and boring for my taste. Greg Benz was very much missed last night, but that's just my opinion.

Lafleche was great! I was a little suprized at the beginning of his set how obvious it was when he was slowing down and speeding up the records...just sort of through me off a bit.
Other then that he was great. Just a bit differnt. I would have liked the overall set to be about 5bpm faster, but hey, everyone was having a great time!!!

So ya, and only because Andy Capp isn't really my cup of tea, if anyone should get booked more for house nights I think it should be Ruckus. That's just my 2 cents.

Had a great night overall...danced my ass off!
Thanks Amir for another great night!
See ya tonight at the Drink

so yes
we differ in opinoin.

i throughly enjoy "tribal/disco house thing", I am a houser, i like house music.

Greg benz is good....if you like boring clubby trance anthems mixed poorly, but im sure he's a nice person.. much respect to him for getting as much play as he has. hes obviously popular in london and has skills...he's just not my "cup o tea".

i do agree ruckus is a great dj. one of the best in london imo.

but come on. London is throughly saturated with greg and ruckus, like what night of the week doesnt greg have a residency for?! And what party doesnt Ruckus play at?

Andy Capp, now there is a up and comer who deserves alot of hype. Big ups to him. So his track selection wasnt up to your standards, it was for me, his mixing was superb. Andy Capp has skills. and you can't deny that.

end of story

I'm on your side about London needing more straight up funky house... I haven't seen AndyCapp in probably a year so I can't really comment on his skills. I like G-Boogie's style though... he used to play at the Base on wednesays...very chill disco and deep house. But hardly anyone would come out cause they all knew they'd be there the next day (ahhh, the sweet memories). He plays at Lush on saturdays now.

Yes I guess we do differ in opinion, but please don't think I'm trying to be rude or anything! Like you said Benz isn't your cup of tea, Capp isn't mine.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE house music, but I'm picky about it. I love hard banging house, but on the other side, deep house as well. Dj heather rocked my world when she came, I went right out and bought her album!!!!

Yes I agree with the fact that Benz and Ruckus are always playing, but I like the music that they spin. Very seldomly do I recognize a track that they play(especially Benz) it's thier style I enjoy....fast, hard. It's just my tastes. I have never cared for Tribal house, which alot of people don't understand, but it's just not something I enjoy.
Andy did have great mixing skills, I agree, but the music just isn't my thing, and i guess you know music better then me, cause I don't ever hear Benz dropping any anthems, but that's just my view.
It has nothing to do with track selection, it's just his style of music that he spins that I don't like.

I know you like garage, but I can't get into that either. Too much vocals and stuff, but again its just my taste.

I say props to any dj that is spinning for the love of the music!!! There is nothing better then seeing a dj going off to his own tunes!!!

and again, that just my 2 cents

Peace

Addicted,

I agree with you that Andycapp is an amazing dj. We've been friends for a long time and he's one of the smoothest dj's around. But " boring clubby trance anthems mixed poorly" I think that's a little extreme.

Not that I dont still play a few anthems now and then, when you play at DV8 and The Drink you kind of have to drop some big records that those crowd's are into.

If you've seen me open up at the Core FX on Thursday's I dont play any trance at all. I play deeper and harder progressive house.

As for Ruckus and I playing out all the time, Ruckus has 2 Residencies(The Core, The Drink) I have 2 (The Core, The Drink) and Andycapp has 2 as well (DV8 on Saturday's and Friday's at the Backas Lounge behind Flicks)

You should check Andy out on Saturday's at DV8 its a great night out. You'll even see me and Ruckus there too, because even though we all play different styles of music we respect and support eachother and all the other dj's and club nights in London.

Maybee you should try to do the same, but that's just my opinion.

hey greg.
like i said i have much respect for you and ruckus and give you both mad props.
your both good dj's but you have to understand that I love music, im just very very picky with what i like to listen and dance to.

be that as it may, im always dancin when your spinning.
i was at the drink on friday.
dancin my ass off.

ive been to dv8 on saturdays and fridays when you used to spin.
im at core fx every thursday. i went to the drink friday and am planning on making it a weekly thing.

support your local scene?
yep.
i promote you a hell of alot more than you know.
that doesnt mean i cant have an opinoin though

rave on.
