Ringathon?

Apparently there are theatres that are going to show all three LOTR films back to back to back, taking 12 hours to take the whole thing in, and costing $49.95 to see them.

12 hours? Okay, that is way too long to sit on your ass.

i'd totally have a ringathon at my place

if only i can get my hands on a copy of the 3rd movie... *Hmmmm*

When the hell would you eat? I'm not going to be able to sustain myself on $5 hot dogs or $8 popcorn

And hopefully they have intermissions or it'll get real messy.

My high wears off by the time the previews done, so this would not work for me without intermissions.

I was thinking of doing it, but it starts at 1pm on Tuesday.

I think i'll go see the first two movies separately in the Theatre this weekend. Or at home.

i'd love to see a chopped version of each film :)

Speaking of which, is there a site where I can go that lists exactly which scenes were added/extended in the extended versions?

Yeah, my LOTR obsessed friend Adam got his ticket about 2 weeks ago for this event....for the AMC Winston Churchill.

He's seeing the first LOTR @ approx. 1:30 pm....the second one at 5:30, then the third at around 10pm

link 1

On pages 4 and 5 of the review, they go into detail about all the added stuff for Fellowship

Link 2

This one's not as nicely indexed as the Fellowship review, but they detail all the added scenes in Two Towers.

P.S. There's one absolutely hilarious scene they add to Two Towers that I don't want to spoil, but if you go to the above links, it will spoil it.

I've already seen it, but I am terrible at picking up stuff like this. Thanks for the link!

i thought that sitting through the first movie was way too much time spent sitting on my ass...i cannot even begin to fathom how crazy i would go watching 3 back to back.

then again, i hate lotr, so i may be biased.
