Rhazel Is The FIFTH ELEMENT

Rahzel was decent. I wouldn't say amazing, but then again I saw him before, last time he was at system, ohh like 6 months ago maybe?

His set was more or less the same deal that he preformed last time around, but then again my memories of that night are a little hazy right now. All I can say is that he started off kinda slowly, but eventually got the crowd into it. First he covered some old hiphop tracks with ease (Flava in ya Ear, some Wu Tang, even some new stuff like 50 and Beyonce) then went into some dancehall riddims, and thats when he connected with the crowd. Heads High, Incredible, Lumidee's Never Leave (which was hilarious, because he threatened to leave if the crowd wasnt clapping) "Fucking paraplegics" I think was the term he used to describe the crowd, which had me laughing my ass off!

His whole "If you mother only knew" routine was pretty slick, and handing out the roses to all the special ladies confirmed his mack daddy status. I loved his schpiel about the special ladies in the crowd, and if the ladies don't have a job, "Yo ass ain't special! Get a job and see me in 2 weeks!" Priceless Rahzel, Priceless!

The crowd cleared out when Rahzel finished (this wasn't a DnB crowd) but Ruckus came on after and tore the place apart! What a killer set! Busting out the ragga choons, even dropping Shine Eyed Gal too... love that track.

In the end tho the night was good, but nothing spectacular, but since i wasn't expecting utter crazyness, I walked out happy. Also nuff respect to Caddy Cad for hooking me and my girlfriend up with free rave tickets!

RAVE ON! :p

Got there early to avoid any huge lineups to hear Tasc playing in the viproom through some technical probs but that guy's a class dj showing he's got the tracks and skills to pay the bills.Myself and a few friends decided to head out to get a front row spot for Rahzel.Everfresh was warming up the crowd with Bandit rocking the mic,NOT!!!!!! The dj is given a whole lotta options to even be somewhat creative, Two tech 1200's and two pioneer cdj's.That would be asking way too much:rolleyes: The tracks he dropped were awful, straight up!!!! Rahzel's dj opens with a dope display of beat juggling and then the man himself steps and does a mediocre " All I know". After that is was downhill, He kept getting feedback, he kept asking the soundman to turn the bass up on his mic(this seemed to be too much ask) What a joke!!!!! Rahzel continued through his set and I can't give a proper review, how could I. It was ruined by system's incompetence:( Waste of money and talent that's for sure.Let's hope they get their shit straight when Qbert comes through in feb.

It was my first time seeing Rahzel. I was expecting more but it was still pretty good. Never thought I'd see System that rammed on a Wednesday night. The only thing I didn't really like was the track selection but for $15 and $2.75 drinks...who am I to complain. Thanks to Chubbs for dragging me out and to my aunt's curry chicken and rice which has pretty much killed the hangover I had this morning.

Roo, come on man, the feedback only affected the first 20 mins of his shit. And he was just warming up then too. Granted it was a little annoying, it was far from "ruining" the show. Once they hit a good balance with the sound engineers it was all gravy.

20 mins of feedback is alot to endure man and like said the sound man couldn't even get the bass up on rahzel's mic!!!!! I was front row centre and from where I was the whole show came off too ghetto and lame for my liking that's all:)

Rahzel was off the hook!!

He checks the mic for every show... and he has to change up the eq's of the mic for different routines he does. Last time I saw him was way back for a Kickit party (i think it was Kickit)... anyways... he threw down for much longer but then again it wasn't on a Wednesday night.

Rahzel was off the hook... he has some mad skillz that no one can even touch. I watched him the whole time and still couldn't figure out how he was doing the things he was doing. I brought out a bunch of my friends cuz Rahzel is just something you MUST see live to believe it. My friends weren't disappointed and neither was I. SICK!!!

Oh, JS-1 was insane too!!!

i thought Everfresh's set was good too... he wasn't playing the huge room tunes or anything but I think that was a good thing... he was pulling out ish that I've never even heard before. Nice!!

The one thing i didn't like was the way the stage was set up... unless you were in the first few rows of people you couldn't see sh!t... For someone like Rahzel you have to be able to see him to get into the vibe... Systems needs a proper stage!!

Yes, Rahzel @ the KickIt party rocked it.

I wasn't there last night... because of this.

I knew it wouldn't compare to the KickIt party at the KoolHaus back a few years ago. Still one of the best Hip-Hop shows I'd been to in years.

Just thought I'd mention a few other things.

The Michael Jackson tracks JS-1 bumped out at the end were fucking awesome... When was the last time you heard Blame in on the Boogie on a huge system? Rahzels "Free Michael" chants were cool too, good to see people supporting rather than hating all the time.

Rahzel making fun of the fight that broke out was funny too "Back in my day, we'd toss yo ass to the curb man" "You wanna bring that negativity in here? Get the fuck out man, we dont want your shit." And JS-1 kept spinning his "Goodbye" sample. LOL too good.

Finally when Rahzel was selling copies of his new CD after his set (which doesnt come out for a while) I found it pretty interesting that he was all like "15 bucks... thats nothing, take it home, play it, burn it, give it to all your friends, I dont give a shit"

this was the worst show of Rahzel ive been too....and ive seen him three times. the sound tech at system had no clue what he was doing, and rahzel was not providing the crowd with anything....just fooling around on the mic. was truely dissapointed with this loose wednesday....
