Just need to vent to bear with me.

I don't know how I got on this mailing list (most likely through trolling the board for addresses). I'm not a DJ and I don't like trance and I don't care what records came out this week. There is nowhere in the email that tells you how to unsubscribe. I've sent several emails with no response.

The kick in the teeth is that on the bottom of all thier emails it says "NEVER SEND SPAM. IT IS BAD."

This brick of the week goes through the window of Release Record's store.

they make a joke out of it, each week is a new one

you must be blind

and I know for a fact that they dont troll for addy's

grow up, dont accuse things on people, without findiung out first

they are the #1 prog record store in NA, and dont need to send you weekly emails, if you dont want them

I'd say just call them at the store, get them to remove your email adress while you're on the phone with them.

I said that I've emailed them SEVERAL times and am still receiving the emails.

At no point did I sign up for it. So they did receive my email through some method of trolling.

I guess I could call them but that's just not something I should have to do.

Did he not mention that he sent an email to the unsubscribe address?

If they didn't unsubscribe him, then he has a right to be frustrated.

The "brick through the window" comment was an obvious expression of that frustration, and he was speaking figuratively.

Its also obvious that someone else here needs to grow up.

You must enjoy the bliss that is coupled with your ignorance.

This wasn't an attempt to attack the validity of the distribution company or its place in the scene, merely their method of marketing.

I'm sure he would have been equally as frustrated if it were another company that used this type of email marketing.

SPAM is annoying, especially when you can't stop it from re-occuring.

I just always find it interesting that every time someone has a problem with something Tranceaholic thinks he has a clue about (like Trance, the guv. muscle shirts, fake breasts, Trance Trance Trance) he automatically brands them and idiot. I delete them as well. I just wonder how they got my email address and why my attempts to be removed have been unssucesful.

By no means is this a personal attack on any of the people affiliated with the store. I'm also not trying to badmouth the store as a whole. I'm sure they are dedicated and have a great selection.

hello basic,

let me clear up a few things...

firstly, we dont "troll" thru messageboards looking for email addresses. we get them thru various sources e.g. mailing list signups, sharing databases, etc...

secondly, if u emailed several times (which i appologize for not being on top of) & these emails (2 per week) are weighing on you that heavily...why dont u just phone us? even if youre long distance, we have a toll free number. were nice guys...i promise

thirdly, just so you know, we dont type in the "never send spam. it is bad" comment on the bottom of each email. we have a huge database that requires a mass email program. unfortunately, every email that gets sent out has this phrase attached to the bottom of it. most people actually tend to find humour in it. i guess you dont.

fourthly, commenting on bricks thru windows is hardly appropriate or called for. your post was well written until that point.

lastly, as i said, all this is from (on average), recieving 2 emails per week. dont u think this has become slightly blown out of proportion? there are bigger tradgedies going on in the world at the moment then causing all this fuss over recieving 2 emails per week.

however, if its such a cause for distress in your life at the moment, u shouldve gotten in touch with me personally & i would have gladly talked you thru it.
