registering music software

ive got a downloaded version of both cakewalk and fruity loops and was wondering how to get em' going?

i'm pretty new to this and I'm really interested in doing a lot with my new computer but need the software and don't want to drop zillions of bucks on software because i'm moving soon...how do i register these to get them working??
