Recent compilations that just came out...

Can anyone recommend any good comps they've recently purchased or listened too?

Probably going to pick up the latest Lazy Dog compilation, as well as Dimitri's After The Playboy Mansion....and perhaps the latest Stickmen cd.

I can't say much for the stickmen CD, it had somewhat poor mixing and pretty much all records were on their own label so they could avoid licensing the tracks.

The Fred Everything CD is pretty good though!

the new dimitri from paris is alright. the laidback cd is killer, the uplifting cd is average.

if you're feelin the whole inland knights/drop music sound, this cd is for you. killer tracks all over, a couple that have been released as singles (which are also great to own). a definate buy!

Fabric 02 - Terry Francis - Fabric

i have a subscription to their cd series, and this mix by Terry "the man" Francis is superb. if you love that deep, rough, techy sound, this is your disc. my fave disc of the year so far. when will someone bring this man to toronto?

i've been trying to hunt down the new Julius Papp & Dave Warren cd as well, but no luck so far. it is supposed to be pretty dope.

I already have the Fabric compilation, and will agree with you that it's killer. Terry Francis is one of the guys I've asked many a many times for people to bring in, but still no show...who knows...someday.

I've looked for this comp all over the place, and no one ever has it. I've tried to download it - and no luck. I've come to believe that this comp does not exist

Francois K is one of my favourite producers of the moment, so was really looking forward to hearing it....someday I'll get my hands on it....

I picke up Ministry Of Sound Defected Sessions and actually really enjoy it - usually I find the MOS stuff crap, but especially disc1 on this set is great. Disc one is by Full Intention and disc two is Smokin' Jo

The Lazy Dog is one of my favorite cds so far this year, as is Dimitri - After the Playboy Mansion.

terry francis is such a wicked dj. he was at lifeforce fridays a year or two ago at turbo. i'd love to see him here in the t dot again.

The new Miguel Migs cd, "Nude Tempo 1" is really really good. Not quite as good as the Francois K cd, but it's up there.

Also, these aren't exactly compilations, but there's two live sets floating around audiogalaxy right now:

the first is "Naked on the Beach", i believe from the 2002 WMC, with Miguel Migs, Julius Papp, and someone else (it's 2.5 hours long)

The other is "Danny Rampling at Miami Winter Music Conference 2002-03-22". It's 2.5 hours as well, and has danny rampling, frankie knuckles, and robbie rivera.... awesome stuff.

I'm about to listen to Joe Claussell's Mix the Vibe cd too. It's supposed to be good as well.

I think I finally got a copy of it - but it seems like it cut out a little early - can you tell me how long your recording is? I'll probably end up purchasing it anyway.

Just purchased the latest Lazy Dog and Dimitri - Dimitri is so damn good! The Lazy Dog I will have to give another listen too before commenting any further...like the first Lazy Dog, preferring the Jay Hannan disc better.

The francois k cd is about 78 minutes long i think.

Also, I listened to the Joe Claussell cd and I was a bit unimpressed. It's not bad, but not all that interesting.

i picked up the latest lazy dog on monday as well.
haven't given a proper listen yet...from what i've heard they're most def summer-esque cds.
