Rain.

Is it just me or does the rain make anyone else feel super sentimental?
Not really sad necessarily, but sort of wistful.
I start thinking about people that I miss, and things in my life that I regret, and start to sing songs to myself, remember lost loves, all that sort of thing.

Is it just me??
Maybe I feel safe feeling that way because if I do get sad and cry, the rain will wash away my tears...

*sigh*

Oh it won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall forever.

<pointless post>I read the thread title and was thinking, "Awww shit ... don't tell me it's raining outside."

Playing in the rain is fun.

Rain...
feel it on my finger tips
Hear it on my window pane, your love's coming down like
Rain......
wash away my sorrow, take away my pain
Your love's coming down like...rain.....

Jo, i think it's just us. I walked into work this morning reminiscing as well.

I thought about friends that I haven't seen in a long time, distant memories yet significantly poignant at times like these.....i thought about situations where I've fucked up... and wish I could share a beer with people (who at one point, i thought I would never ever ever forgive), and laugh.

boooo sentimentality.

Rain can make me feel wistful and sentimental but this morning it just pissed me off  I couldn't find my unbrella and I was already having bad hair day before I stepped out of my apartment, now I just look gross and feel cold and wet. Not a good way to start off the day.......

I love this song....

The rain is depressing me this morning...
It's making me feel all grey inside.

Nice thread, I find it way easier to be sad when its raining... or else when it is so overcast that colour loses itself and everything takes on a shade of grey

Theres thing I remember and things I will forget
I miss you I guess that I should
Three thousand five hundred miles away
What would you change if you could

I need a phone call
maybe I should buy a new car
I can always hear a freight train
baby if I listen real hard
and I wish, I wish it was a small world
cause I'm lonely for the big towns
Like to hear a little guitar
I guess its time to put the top down

Raining in Baltimore, counting crows

tries so hard to be sad that some people think its cheese but it gets me every time.

I think it is a Libra thing Jo -- when I woke up this morning and went to head downstairs for my shower, I paused in front of my window which overlooks Richmond street, and just stood there watching the rain fall for 5 minutes or so -- not really sure what I was thinking about, maybe I was still half asleep, but there's something about rain in the springtime that gives me that same kinda feeling you were talking about.
I guess for me it may have something to do not so much with looking backwards, but forwards -- the rain really signifies to me the end of winter, the cleansing of all the salt and sand and crap off the sidewalks and streets, and a new beginning.

Wow, that sounds SO Hallmark -- I'm in the midst of writing an english paper, my brain is going to be in this mode all day.

If anything can put you in a sentimental mood it's them...
Now the memories are really floodin back...

Led Zeppelin "The Rain Song"

This is the springtime of my loving
the second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing
so little warmth I've felt before.
It isn't hard to feel me glowing-
I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles
flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes
it is to you I give this tune.
Ain't so hard to recognize-
These things are clear to all from
time to time. Ooooh...

Talk Talk
I've felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us...

But I know that I love you so
but I know that I love you so.

These are the seasons of emotion
And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion
I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient
Upon us all a little rain
must fall.
Just a little rain?
ooooh, yeah yeah yeah!

...the rain is making me feel sleepy and hungry.
