question

what do you mean with "actively uses the internet"?

that they are on a message board??

no.

p[l]a+0

the usage is nonexistent basically to virtually nonexistent. i.e. nonexistent is never having used the internet virtually non existent is that they have an email address that they never used after making it ... these people actively don't use or don't need the internet for anything they can't already do

are these people of which you speak actually existent? sadly enough, i cannot imagine my life without the internet...even if it were only purely for researching topics that interested me.

That's what I'm saying...do such people exist, but still in the club scene

Yeah, but what about those you don't ask for an email address and he who doesn't ask you for one, are there people like that

I cannot even fathom the possibility of such people existing

I have a question but don't feel like starting another thread. This thread, cause of its title, will be sufficient enough......

How long do you see yourself partying? seriously, until what age?

I see myself going as long as Tenaglia, 40+, but then again, I have a LONG way, no seriously, a LONG way till that age.

i doubt most people have never used the internet

never mind the club scene

just people in general

the only people who haven't used the internet at least once, ever, would be senior citizens

and even then ...

I don't see myself in the club scene at that age for sure but yet paradoxically at the same time I don't see the end of myself in the club scene

1/3 of the world hasn't used a telephone (or is it 2/3? but that seems excessively high)...

thats hard to grasp.

a 'portion' of the population hasn't used the internet or do not frequently use it, so naturally that will show itself in the scene, unless theres some sort of an exception with people who attend parties...

I'm 23 and I envisage another 4-5 years of partying [max] before calling it quits. When I'm 40, I will attempt a comeback as I'll need an escape from my midlife crisis.

^^^ I'm looking at pretty much the same time frame...I've already started to drift from it...it seems as though now I go to meet up with friends more than anything else.

ah, but that's because you're a fellow geek and your scope of understanding tends to be fairly limited to your interests and personality - what about those beyond that?

yeah, I can so see you out of the scene completely and moving into the world of finance completely

I think the rave/electronic music scene and the Internet go hand in hand. Both grew together on pretty much the same timeline, and people who listen to electronic music are usually technically inclined. Especially since people have been finding out about parties through e-mail and message boards for a long time now.

who cares if people who party use the internet?

im thinking that once i hit 25 by party lifestyle will slow down a lot, if not stop

my party lifestyle has already shifted to a more bar influenced lifestyle.

Parties/clubs are great and I always have fun when I go, but I enjoy the bar more. It's a much more social atmosphere, and I now find going 24 hours awake very inconvenient. Before I enjoyed staying up for long periods of time, but the novelty has worn off (to a degree).

Then again my accessability to Clubs is minimal...but bottom line I find most electronic oriented clubs to be less social than standard bars, and depending on my mood that's a good thing, other times it is not.

It certainly seems as though everyone is connected online, for the most part I'm sure we are but I do know some ppl who don't use the internet and have no care to. Perhaps the power is too tempting...

There is a very stong connection between the scene as we know it and technology. Everything from the way the music is created, to digital sound systems, to communication; we've got it covered. The evolution of party?

Peace & love. D
