question re. sony mp3 discman

so does anyone own a sony mp3 discman? can i burn just regular mp3 cd's and play them, or do i need to convert the files to some stupid sony proprietary format and burn them that way?

You don't have to use the proprietary software. I hate that p word. You can play mp3s as is (that's what I do)
