question about leafs jereseys.

the leafs are playing in Boston tonight.....but are wearing their white jerseys.
arn't white jerseys supposed to be worn at home games?

is there any reason for inverting the tradition tonight?..or is it just a completely random thing?

The NHL decided to reverse the sweaters this year.

Most of the teams 3rd jerseys are a darker colour, so they preferred having them wear them at home, since they obviously sell more at home games.

Plus, the equipment people preferred not to have to carry around 2 complete sets of uniforms when they went on road trips and were going to wear the 3rd jerseys.

Some sports psychologist has decided that dark is psycologically more menacing as well, so many sports (not just the NHL) have adopted the dark jersey as the home jersey. Look around in most sports and you will see this to be the case.

now all they need to do is forget the instigator rule, bring the nets back, and have touch up offsides(which would kill the trap game entirely)

its been almost 40 years.

hey, maybe THATS the Leafs problem.....haven't won since 67, the same time the league switched the colours on home jerseys.

Now, wearing dark at home, we're 1st in the league.

I think making the rinks larger would kill the trap.Players are alot bigger then say 10 to 15 years ago.The rinks have pretty much stayed the same size as where the players have gotten bigger.

Olympic size is perfect.
