I've been playing my old tapes and I must say... TO needs some acid !

who wants to take the glory in throwing an old acid revival party ?

wouldn't that be sweet... a trip down memory lane... throwing an oldskool style acid/hardkore party.

:p

Nightmare.
Dave the Drummer live and The Geezer live.

AS much as it has its 'uncultured' 'not real techno' and 'full of dirty raver' appeal- it will be a great event.

Acid

I just got my hands on Terry Mullen's set from some syrous new years party... Gotta say wish my parents wern't assholes back then and let me actually go to parties :\

I've only heard a few acid sets (not acid techno) and I have to say that I'm fairly impressed with it.

If given enough warning, I'd try and make it out to an acid style event.

i've recently come into some sets that feature older acid house sounds. stuff like terry mullen @ rewind '99 (c/o Stretch & Hooker + tribe ftp). anybody got a hookup for a complete tape/set of this stuff? the mullen set is great, but it is mixed with newer house sounds too. i'd like to get something that's purely old skool acid house.

i've already got a couple of great 'ardkore sets/tapes.

i think, judging by other posts that i've seen of this nature, people would definitely support some kind of old skool party. i think it would be fun to have some kind of event that showcased the complete history of raving. for example, have somebody play early techno/acid house from the late 80's, someone playing stuff like stone roses, happy mondays, etc. from the 'madchester' scene, someone playing 'ardkore, early jungle (seems to be no shortage of these folks around), early trance (ie harthouse/eye q stuff), NYC garage, etc. basically represent as many of the major 'revolutions' in electronic music as possible that have influenced the rave scene in the past 15 years.

maybe this idea has been covered already. i dunno...

I know I know-

old school.
I do miss the older acid techno.. and lets not forget the wonderfull Hoover techno.

Im hoping to hear some older sounding acid stuff from Geezer..

Im starting to like some of this new acid techno again. But it still reminds me of trance too much - BUT lets just not go there.

I have a friend who spins alot of old school acid beats (acid breaks-house-techno).

Geez...

Alright, here i go.
Just remembering a friend of mine (Terry) and i had an ongoing quest back in the day. It was a little bit past the heyday of the Acid House scene, but our goal was to find the squelchiest acid sound out at the time (which was the early 90's).

The champion - Armando!
He could definitely tweak the hell out of his 303! ;)

I guess i'll have to dig it all out now, and play it on the show for you guys.

Cheers!

well... I'll have to agree with you on the fact the Armando is quite the don as I noted in one of my earlier posts.

For anyone who needs schooling on ARMANDO... download a track "Land Of Confusion"... fucking dirty. It's on my 'new school fusion' cassette.

schwab sucks.

Terry Mullan knows how to throw down a good set. He's the cat that got me into partyin. I have damn near 18 tapes of his from the last 6 years or more?!! His newer tapes are kinda busted..too much of that newer hard house crap, but his older ones are acid goodness that squelches and bleeps with the best.

It's been done... the party was called "Headbangerz"... :)

However, I would love it if someone threw an oldschool style party at Props House (for feel) with Robert Armani spinning an old-school set and Hardfloor playing live...

I'm sure it would more than sell out....

Oh, and make sure that delightful Mr E. is spinning too....;)
