Pulse Christmas in Miami @ 99 Sudbury

Maybe i'm missing it here somewhere, but i'm a little suprised no one has mentioned this jam yet in the reviews.

Got to 99 Sudbury after playing in guelph( http://www.tribemagazine.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=56431 ), and upon entering the place, was immediately engulfed in a sea of people.

I hadn't been to that spot in a while, but shit, i never remember it being that full of people!

Anyway, don't know who was on when i arrived, but soon thereafter, Joel Smye got on the decks, and i think its only fair to say that he ripped shit up.
With a well decorated place and an all around great vibe, Joel had the place bumpin up until around the time i left((5 maybe?), when Mat Lunnen picked things up.

I regretfully had to go home to catch some zzz's, hearing the rather dirty DC Audio Bully's remix bassline move me across the floor.

Good times, good tunes, good people = very good jam.

nice!

Christmas in Miami was as dope as the snow Crockett and Tubbs where always chasing after!

Serious vibe in the place. When we got there shortly after midnight it was still rather empty, and we were greeted by palm trees, christmas trees and all sorts of funky decorations that helped set the Miami mood. Not to mention Joel Smye in his rainbow striped track suit, and the two Miami vice look-alikes walking around.

Whoever was spinning when I got there was playing some slightly harder tunes, but he definitely got people moving. Before long the place was PACKED, and almost everyone was dancing. When he dropped "Where's your head at?" by the Bassment Jaxx, the place went nuts, and then it was time for Mr. Smye to hit the decks. He made the transition nicely, and by this point it was an absolute SEA OF HUMANITY!! As mentioned, Joel ripped shit up, and had me and a few hundred other people dancing our asses off.

Quality night all around...it's parties like these that keep the scene fun, and make you remember why you fell in love with it in the first place. So many cool peeps there, good music, amazing vibe, amazing space...it was a nice early Christmas present!

Props to Pulse Productions!! Keep up the good work, and I'll see you at the next one!

on the basis of just how rammed it was in there, i'd say it was very well promoted, though due to the venue being non-legit, and there being no official tribe upcoming events thread, you could easily have not heard about this party.

that said, there is a mailing list(don't know the email address off hand though), though personally i heard about it by word of mouth.

thick, fruity, skunky, red, draught beer that i never heard of is yucky! but i'm not complaining. i choked back as much as i could muster and was part of an amazing, well planned, underground night that was chock full of vibe. HUGE thanx, love, and respect to steph and joel, please keep up the good work boys, i have become a loyal supporter.

Once again yet another killer party. 3rd one down and I've still to be disapointed (don't think I will be). Amazing decorations (LOVE the pink flamingos) and sublime sound. Definetly looking forward to the next one.

hey DEEPHOUSEGRL and everyone else curious about future events... you wont see our flyers here on tribe or in the usual spots (ie: record stores or clothing stores). we do try and get the word out but we prefer to do it via word of mouth and through our email list. if you want to be included in our email send-out, just send a message to pulse_productions@hotmail.com with 'subscribe' in the subject line and we'll be happy to add you to our list of upcoming events.....

thanks go out to everyone who attended saturday's event. i had a ton of fun and i think everyone else did as well. we pride ourselves on having a great decor and a more than adequate sound system for every event. we really want to up the ante on just what makes a great party here in Toronto. promoting local talent, having diverse crowds, and paying attention to detail are just a few if the things that we feel will get our scene thriving again, and that's what we'd like to accomplish with the events we put on every once in a while.

to ashG, JAR & lucinda... thanks for the kind words. it was great to see you out on saturday. you guys are tons of fun. and to 'duggystyler'.............i agree with you about the beer. its was st. andre beer on tap. i think this will be that last time we use it for our events. it's just not proper keg beer. lol. a little too heavy for allnighters! see you soon bro.

juju and finary........email the address listed above for info on future events........werd.

thanks again everyone! toronto has LOTS to offer. let's not forget that!!!

aren't we special?

Good to hear you all had a good time, although I don't make it a priority in life to find where the next big party is every saturday. Although, I've been to these parties before, it's a good time always.

we're all special michi! :p ;)

your assumption was incorrect - the promotion was done well, but in a less overt manner than most. that's all.
