Anyone have experience with capsules as a sleep aid?
Have been dealing with severe back issues for 3 months now and I need something to help me relax and ease the pain. And the oxy perscription is not going to get used on my watch.
I don't mind to smoke but at this point would love to take something to help me relax and get some rest.
So I dont think weed will help much with your pain - directly
but going through serious back troubles for a long time it definitely helped me
cope in the worst times. Weed as a painkiller is more about distracting you from pain and not feeling so sorry for yourself, like you can have fun while living with a fucked up back kind of thing.
When I had acute sciatica in its worst moments in my 2010 relapse I had a percocet type thing - i rationed them once a week and always looked forward to that one night I could sleep for 7 or 8 hours instead of 4 hour shifts.
In between naproxen helped a bit but wouldn't really, on its own, be enough to crush nerve pain and make it go away. But if you are experience nerve related back issues and inflammation, it can take the edge off and might help you sleep a bit better.
That's aleve off the shelf.
If you do the NSAIDs like naproxen and ibuprofen often and for a long time it can take a toll on your stomach lining. But if you are in the middle of some serious shit now its ok to take it every day for 6-12 months.
I just was using them a few times a week for years and had to back off with some stomach irritation. GI scope and all was well down there but all my big discomfort in the stomach discontinued when I stopped taking them.
Then all I had was my regular tools: exercises, constant stretching, walking, hot showers and hot baths, lying on ice packs. And keeping all that up means I can sleep 6-7 hours but usually i'm tightening up and need to wake up and stretch after 7 hours.
A lot of nights even still i may have a bit of a time finding a good position.
I find my right side is off limits now, just makes things worse - so its on my back or left side.
Make sure your bed is top notch - get sympathy money from relatives if you need to - a good bed is essential!
