So I just got a blinging new phone with polyphonic ringtones. What's a good place to download more for free? I spent the last half hour looking for a midi file of Planet Rock but no luck :(

Siemens M55. Fido, because I refuse to change the phone number I've had for 5 years (plus I threatened them into giving me this phone for free after i lost my old one).

I don't think the model makes a difference though. It seems to read any midi file accessible from the net.

Record your voice using "voice notes" and use your data cable to transfer *.vmo file from Voice memo folder to your pc. Change the sound format of file to IMA ADPCM 8kHz 4bits mono. Save the file and send it to the sound folder of your phone. The "ringtone" is ready to use.

and for everything else...

What's a good way to downsample to 4bit? CoolEdit seems to jarble anything under 8 bits :(

Also what ADPCM compression ratio should I use?

what is the type of file extensions that polyphonic ringtones come with?

I am asking because... could you make your own?

I have thought about this many times when I am listening to techno sets... like cut out a piece of the track you like and then pass it unto the cellphone..

how possible is this?

Also, this might not be of help...however the Sasha website has a tune of his for download as a polyphonic ringtone. I have listened to it and it isn't a bad ringtone.
it's alright.

I am thinking of putting a bent track...

"exercise - 1"

from the 3 minute mark ... it would just be for 10 seconds the most.
