For summer tires I highly recommend General Tire UHPs
I ran them on my SRT4 which made silly silly power and they had terrific traction and great treadwear, plus they were inexpensive for the performance they offered.

Nice one, are those the same 17s you had picked up earlier?

Keeping it nice and clean too I see... :D

Similar. Running the tune in bypass mode now so I don't tear up the tires in 2 weeks.

That's speed-dirt baby.

If you have winters get a set of summer only tires for your other rims. All seasons (aka no seasons) are a compromise all around and since you do switch over to winter tires there is no reason not to go with a set of sticky summer rubber.

As for recommendations... what is your price range/size required?

shite! I cant totally recall the size and being in storage I cant double check. I know its 215/ I think 75 / and I know its R17. its just that middle number that is confusing me.

As for budget, I have not even begun to look at what Summers cost so I am a little clueless. I spent about 200 each on the winters and could be prepared to do the same for summers?

I'm too lazy to swap between winter and summer wheels and/or tires twice a year.
Hence...

So, I am looking to push every last it of handling out of my '04 Nissan Sentra Spec-V this summer for auto-X.

Any suggestions for improving handling?

My struts are completely worn now, as they have been on lowering springs for 250,000km's. SO I think it's time to do the whole suspension now!

Any advice on Mitsubishi sport utilities. Our lease is ending soon and I'm loving the 2010 Outlander XLS. I'm far from a gear head and have always leased. This will be my first purchase

So if my car doesn't want to accelerate at high speeds, makes a plasticky smell and loses power going up hills - what is wrong?

Help me internets! I know nothing and don't want to look like a complete idiot at the mechanic

It's a 2005 Corolla Sport, 200K+, manual transmission.

Basically it accelerates fine, but if you try to go on any kind of incline in 5th (i.e. on the highway) the speedometer just starts dropping and it makes a plasticky smell. Gears 1-3 (city driving) seem fine and normal.

What about that vehicle draws you to it specifically?
Mitsu build quality is low end, and the vehicles I find are usually disappointing feature wise.
When you're riding in a 4 year old Mitsubishi, you KNOW you're in a 4 year old Mitsu...
The Evo being the only exception to that rule usually.
There's lots of other SUVs in that class, why that one?

Yeah I agree with Grinch, aside from the Evo (and maybe the Ralliart) the rest of Mitsu's cars are pretty crap IMO. If you must have a cute-ute I'd look at either the RAV4 or the CR-V as they are pretty much the top of the heap in that segment.

Nothing holding me to that car specifically. I like the look of it and I'm just starting to look into what I want.

Don't know much about Mitsubishi, don't know others that have one. The old Montero always caught my eye even before there was a Mitsu dealer in Toronto. Dealership is right by me so I'm gonna pop in there next week to take a test drive.

damn. i didn't even think of clutch because it has no issues shifting and i kinda always assumed that if the clutch went it wouldn't shift or something LOL.

cost?

Parts = Clutch, Flywheel, Throwout Bearing, Lots of Tranny fluid, and I would have them do the Shift Fork while they're in there
Labor = About 6 - 8 Hours

I have no idea what a clutch for a Corolla costs. My last clutch was a 6 puck racing clutch, kind of a different animal ;P

we're into the last steps of a massive re-haul of a 1993 porsche 930 turbo. we acquired it about 16 months ago when the owner (who had a very large out standing bill with us) passed away and it was transferred into our possession.

we figured we would store it and work on it anytime the shop got slow... and over time we have painstakingly taken it apart and rebuilt it.

everything about it is to original specifications (except a few things here and there)... but on the whole it is a beautiful example of perfection.
the paint job on the other hand is not at all factory.... it's a redish brown color.... with wheels that have a 20 bolt center piece painted the same color as the car, and the rims a shiny chrome.

this car has become a beautiful specimen of porsche-at-it's best. those who know the 1993 930 turbo will understand. the buyer was in today to check on the progress... and he was very elated at the product.

by next week it will be fine tuned, detailed, and ready to go.
we will be sad to see it go so soon, as it would have been nice to have owned it for a while before finding a buyer so we could enjoy it ourselves.... but whatever.

i'll try and get some pics on monday and post them on here.

** next we got to finish and sell the 944 race car.
