I've got a friend coming to visit who's a photographer, and wants to visit a few galleries.

Hoping you guys might be able to suggest a few nice ones to checkout!

Thanx!

Try and do a search for the annual photographic festival held in Toronto each year called "Contact". The program that circulates at the time lists all exhibit spaces around Toronto so perhaps their web page will also?. Off the top of my head, there are a few small galleries on Queen west that I have always enjoyed.

Far superior to the lame ass weeklies is SLATE, which comes out 8 times a year and can be picked up free at galleries. They are also online here:

http://www.slateartguide.com/

They list the openings too so you can gorf down free carrot stick trays whenever you want.

Stephen Bulger on Queen.

Power Plant is having a show right now with one of the members of General Idea.

Thom1000 I think still has his photos up in the Distillery district at Piktu.

Propeller's a good place to go.

So is Gallery 44.

And of course, check out the new Tribe issue for my column. I recommend a few places to hit for holiday gallery hopping.

You sold everything??? WOW. You're my idol. And that is NOT sarcasm even though it sounds like it. Heh.

I only sold 3 at the last one. But my work is kinda unsellable anyway.

I think I was lucky to have such a successful first show and have all 38 imges sell. The fact that I made it a charity event got some hugh press and plugs on Edge 102 , CBC , Mix99 , Q107 and Jack .
When you are selling the type of stuff I shoot (live music shots) you can never under estimate the power of celebrity.
