How does it work? Specifically, how can someone send me money? I (receiver) have a paypal account, does the sender need a paypal account? Can they charge it to their credit card? If they can I assume it would be like a cash advance right?

My guess is that it is trying to accumulate a large userbase and then sell off the service to another company or one of the banks or something like that.

Either that or has some sort of agreement between all 5 of the major banks to allow transfer between different banks without a teller interaction.

From this review that I found, I don't know if I would trust the service competely.

Cheers ... Ian :)

I hat paypal so much.

I signed up with them anb then didn't use the account for about a year. I went to use my account, and it tells me that I have to sign up with some sort of larger purchase verification code.

The code was apparently on my credit card statement, which I no longer have. Nor do I remember what month or even year it is specifically.

And I can't sign up with a new account because I already have my old account, and they don't seem to have customer service.

if someone pays by credit card through paypal to you, they charge you like 2-3% on top of the normal fee's, where as bank transfers through paypal are only 50 cents I believe. e-mail bank transfers are the way to go if in canada. If they don't have an account, it takes like 3 days for them to get set up with the credit card, another 2-3 days on top of that to transfer back into your account. I just made a purchase on ebay with paypal and I guess it takes a week for it to clear. fast and easy payments my ass. maybe easy, but not fast. I might as well just mailed a money order

i found that extended use thing too. then i found you can link it to a bank account thus don't need to use dthe extended feature (it's only for credit cards).

Arkane it doesn't take aweek toclear.

Paypal works for credit cards and also very recently Canadian banking accounts.

Transfers are quick, the transferee/er are both 'validated' ie the credit card owner info is verified by paypal (also a recent Canadian addition)

If you need money transferred between two Canadian banks, I suggest email money xfer. It's on my TD account and is supported by all the majors in Canada. th bonus is that the money reciever can choose where to put the money, Visa, Chequing, Savings etc... it only costs $1.50 thru TD.

I didn't think it took a week to clear either, I paid through my bank account to paypal and the money was taken out on Dec 3rd, then I went to ebay and it said my 'paypal was still pending' so I emailed the seller and asked what's up, so he tells me it takes a week to clear. Didn't make much sense to me since the money was already out of my account. maybe because I'm not a verified user yet? still waiting on my credit card statement to get verified.

Q: My friend did not receive the money I sent. What's wrong?

A: There are a few reasons this can happen:
1. You sent money using the eCheck payment method. Because the money is coming from your bank account, it will take 4 business days to clear. Thus, your recipient will not receive the money instantly. If you want your recipient to receive the funds immediately, use the credit card or Instant Transfer payment methods.

2...
