"highsteppa this is dynovac" *grin*

parks and wilson (for the hour and a half i heard them) were slammin.

it's been a while since i've been to system, and it was a pleasure to party there again.

i'm home early because i already have the desired effect, so it's time for me to go to sleep.

I just walked in the door from an excellent nite at Breathe.
Mark Scaife started the night off nicely with a solid set.
I found Park to be a little to fluffy for my tastes, but when Wilson steped on i was highly impressed. Nice hard tracks, with some wikkid acid lines in them. What was that track that sounded like it was from The Matrix, it fucking ruled.

Excellent crowd, and a stellar vibe. Plus i ran into a couple old friends from back home (kingston).

i'd give it an 8.5/10. Good One Breathe.

I had a wicked time!

Scaife once again played a great opening set!

the first headliner, i think it was Parks played an amazing set. His mixes were spot on, and his track selection was just as good. I can't get over how clean his mixes were.

The second guy(Wilson?) played a great set to. He picked up the pace a bit, which was nice. I found his mixes to be not as good as Parks'. They were timed out well and the transitions were good, but his mixed just weren't as clean. Still better than most DJ's though.

All in all a good night.

Parks and Wilson f-ucking rocked last night. One of the best nights i've been to at breathe. Parks (the first guy)was amazing, he kept building so nicely and his mixing was incredible. Wilson (the second guy) played some really great tunes and tore up the place . But I have to say his mixing was pretty weak.

Once again Scaife played a killer warm up set. I have yet to hear him play a bad set. Nice one mark, you had some nice tunes in the mix too.

Great crowd and vibe too. It seems like alot of people are converting to this music.

Okay, the earlier message was the best I could do after yesterday's drunkening, but I'm going to try and attempt to string together a more coherent sentence or two now. Personally, I felt as though Parks & Wilson's set was relatively uneventful. That's not to say that it didn't go over well on the dance floor, but that it lacked the track programming, peaks and fluidity demonstrated on the tail end of their Essential Mix [which anyone who was unfortunate enough to have spoke to me yesterday would have heard me yammer on about]. Nonetheless Breathe as expected has delivered a unique sound for the Tronna heads. More important than the music were the people out, and that's saying a lot coming from me, given how much I was looking forward to this set. It was cool to party with peeps I hadn't seen in a while as well as attach real people to online personalities. Thanks for a kickass belated birthday jam, all. See you there next week for Hybrid.

Nesta, i dont think that was it. I think ive heard that before, so..
This track had an acid line that was similar to the (i think) scene when they attack the military building.

Before I go into the music of the night, I'd like to say thank you to all of the people from this board who made it out last night to check out Parks & Wilson.
It was great to meet everyone (or most of you anyhow)...and like Norm said in his post...it was funny, odd and cool (all at the same time) when being introduced to people by their Tribe name.
Anyhow...I'm glad that a good time was had by all.
Now...onto the music.
I was truly happy with the winding progression of the evening's music....from Mark Scaife's bumpin' opening set to Wilson's groovin' and slowly building set (spot on mixing) to Parks' absolutely slamming set and then on to Deko-ze's rocking closing set.
Wait...let me make the point of saying that Parks dropped absolute bombs on the crowd between 3:00am - 4:00am. I had taken a moment earlier in the night to explain to them about the Breathe music policy as well as how knowledgeable the Breathe crowd is about the music and they were nodding their heads in agreement towards the end of their set. They were well impressed with the enthusiastic crowd reactions to all the new music they played.
Speaking of which...Parks & Wilson completely blew me away with the amount of white labels that they dropped.
Like...95% of the tracks were promos and I nearly got whiplash from peeking around the monitor to ask what the name of each track was.
What pleased me the most was how much they both loved the club and the crowd. Some of you (like Crouse) got to speak with them as they took turns walking through the crowd while the other was playing and they both came back into the booth very impressed by the atmosphere and the people.
They can't wait to come back to Toronto.
And we can't wait to have them.
Thanks to everyone who busted a groove on the dancefloor and especially to those who were so into the music that they were cheering, yelling out and throwing their hands into the air during the breakdowns. You gotta love shit like that.

Well I had a fantastic time last night!!! Tons of fun! Great friends and some pretty fookin good music. Came in a little early and caught most of Mark Scaifes set, didn't really grab me at all but it was nice.
Then P & W, I have pretty much the same feelings as everyone else on this subject, Parks nice and smooth, great mixing. Wilson loved how he cranked it up but wasn't quite as smooth, however the fact that he brought it up harder made up for anything else
smile.gif
. For me the tune of the night BY FAR was "Humanoid - Stakker Humanoid" I lept out my seat and ran over to the dance floor the moment I heard this, and when the buildup started the place just blew up!!!!
Overall yet another great Breathe night!

No no you got it all wrong, I was offering you money so that you could finally get your mother that face lift.
That way you can give her that good night kiss without crying.

Xopus, should have read more before posting... Im pretty sure the track I named above is the one your looking for, it has a total acid line right through it.

I was very impressed with Parks & Wilson last night. From reviews passed on by friends who had seen them previously (mostly at the Hooj nights in the UK), I was told to expect nothing great technically, but an enjoyable set. Last night was much better than what I was expecting.

I loved their track selection, the wide range of new material they played, (asides from the "minimalistix" track and a remix of Aquila "Dreamstate" I didn't recognize a track all night. I think Rentboy was the same. I liked Wilson's energy a lot.

I was planning on leaving at about 4 o'clock, but ended up staying much later simply 'cos of the monster tunes being dropped in the back room.......anyone hear the Deep Dish remix of The Rolling Stones "Saint of Me" get dropped? Sick, sick track.

All this combined with the loads of people there definitely made this one of the best nights out at Breathe ever.

Happy Birthday again Deep....hope you enjoyed it.

I still think that Deko-Ze should be pulling 8 hour marathons. I've never seen a line up for the coatcheck this big between 3-4. Parks and Wilson failed to keep the club packed, and that's just not right. Two of their biggest supportes I know - deep and Otis, were both "unimpressed", as was I. A great last hour did not make up the rather uneventful first two. There were some great tunes in those two hours but those were medium rare and blah, blah blah... I guess it wasn't my thing.

It wasn't much of a surprise then that it was the abundance of friends that made my night - it was a sweet pleasure meeting TRIBE's own movie critc Highsteppa (who was too mobile or busy for me to get him to talk flicks that particular night
wink.gif
), and it was even sweeter being abused by the b-day boy deep and chilling with the rest of TBK fun crew. I love them all!

Big up Moez for her first l...... experience. It was nice to watch. Hehe...

I am still recovering from last night...all I got to say is that Parks and Wilson were both excellent!

Mark Scaife= best warm up set yet!, I have been to most of the breathe nights and judging by the crowd reaction and some of the tunes that were played..last night was a stormer!
Parks= proper deep house. Whoever said it was fluffy doesn't know what he/she is talking about...sorry.

Wison= hard, uptempo progressive tunes awesome set!! Lots of energy, good to see a dj trying to interact with the crowd for once!
All three dj's I saw had excellent programing and mixing.

I am getting sick of praising Breathe..the night they have is just way too good at the moment. So all that is really left to say is:

KUDOS to whoever sets the line up and books the dj's.

Oh, some tracks I heard and could recognize:
Saeed and Palesh "Dooms day"
some f*cked up but cool vertion of Blaze "to my beat" ....that is all I could recognize
a lot of stuff must have been white labels!.

back room (I was there only for like 20 min.)
Danny Tenaglia's vertion of Green Velvet's "Flash" got played. That's an awesome tune to hear out loud!
