Hey folks,
Jeremy, Dave Lee and myself thought we'd send out a little note with some
updates and information about the event this Saturday night (March 16th -
Building Blocks 4.5). One important thing to note is that the space is
actually ABOVE Aria nightclub in Toronto on Richmond @ 457 Richmond West -
just West of Spadina - and not *at* Aria (just in case there was any
confusion). Go around to the back door behind the building for the entrance.
The space itself is the whole second floor of the building, kind of
loft/warehouse style with wooden floors. It will be licensed for the
evening.
We're really excited about the night. Pantytec will be flying in from
Montreal where they are playing the evening before (just two performance
dates on this trip, then they're back to Germany). Their live sets are
reported to be amazing, and just in case you've been living under a rock (or
with Jeremy in his studio for the past few years) the music they make on
their massive Perlon label is funky, dance floor friendly, bass heavy
European minimalism. Sounds like an oxymoron I know, but it's true. Zip from
Germany will also be DJing. Right after our guests from Perlon finish,
Jeremy P. Caulfield steps up. He's been working on this live set like a pack
of wild wolves work over a deer (as anyone knows who has tried to speak with
him recently), so we're in for a treat.
Here's the lineup for the night, and we expect to be busy, and as you can
see, things get hot in a hurry, so we would recommend getting there early.
10:00-12:00: Dave Lee Roth Junior Sanchez - Technomeet
12:00-1:30: Dj Zip from Perlon - Germany
1:30-2:30: PANTYTEC LIVE - Perlon Germany
2:30-4:00 (or later): Jeremy P. Caulfield LIVE - Dumb-Unit
We've boosted the sound at the venue with our old friends from Shakedown
sound helping out. Projections from Kilgore Trout and Bryan Falling will
also be featured as part of the decor.
Both Eye and Now also featured articles on the event and Jeremy's Dumb-Unit
label and upcoming live set this week:
