Pamela Anderson may not look sick, but she is. And she could become worse. The Canadian born actress and star of the series V.I.P. has hepatitis “C”. And she’s blaming her ex-husband, Tommy Lee, for giving it to her.
The 34-year old star says she contracted the liver-destroying blood virus by sharing a tattoo needle with Lee. She charges that the former Motley Crue drummer never told her he had the condition. But that’s not what Lee says. He claims he’s tested negative for Hep C and that Anderson's charges are a blatant attempt to change the joint custody agreement for their sons: Brandon, 5 and Dylan, 4.
Hepatitis C likely won’t kill Anderson. But it could cause her health problems. Symptoms of the disease include jaundice, fatigue, vomiting and pain, and possibly liver cancer or cirrhosis. It’s spread by sharing needles, unprotected sex or blood-to-blood contact. An estimated 8,000-10,000 Americans die from complications due to the illness every year.
Eventually, the virus could make Anderson a different kind of V.I.P. – a very ill person.
