it's acrylic on really smooth board. 3"*4". I painted it like a water color - you're supposed to use gell medium so let's hope it lasts through the years.. I still need to varnish it. but I'm gonna do some research because I don't want it to be shiney.

masonite board?
how did you prepare it?

i wish i could paint like you. i cannot, for the life of me, blend acrylic paints like that on anything other than newsprint paper.

and newsprint is not really paint friendly so i wont be doing actual works on it.

i keep staring at the background though, its really intriguing...i cant tell what it is though...is that her hair? and is that a couple buildings behind her?

it's a thick particle board? really tiny pieces.. it was really smooth. I sanded it a bit to get some tooth and then gessoed the sucker.

as for painting with acrilics.. it is really difficult, but I was made for painting! as I started I realized the gesso was sucking up all the water! but I just wet it and did a wet on wet. so much fucking fun!

the great thing about acrylics as water colour is there are no limits to layering as the dry layer wont disolve if you go over it! love it

and as for the subject matter - you know I can't tell you what it all is/means... ;) ....but I'll give you a hint. what do we block out a lot of the time when walking down the street?
