I don't know if I have the authorita to review this party since I'm no breakhead but ...

What is the big "OMG" over DJ Icey? Just sounded like a regular Wednesday night @ Limelight to me.

Home @ 2:30am. Waste 0f time & money =====================> Suke.

I must say that I was soooo impressed.

The biggest breaks DJ in North America played a set that consists of 3/4 breakbeat garage and nu-school.

The future of breaks is looking good...

Um if you're home at 2:30, then you didn't hear that much of him.

I think Icey played a very "grown up" set. Here in toronto we're used to really funky, off the wall breaks, but that's not what icey is about. You gotta give the man respect for taking breaks in new directions, even if the results are a bit to serious. I loved some of the stuff he played though... and as a DJ, the guy is definetly a pro.

The Scratch Perverts were a bit disappointing. They did do some really perverted stuff with the decks, but there were really only 2 or 3 truly impressive routines in the whole hour and a half that they were on. I expected more intensity.

Oh, and the best dancer of the night award goes to Robb G, who busted it down front row center during Icey's set

I just want to thank anyone who toughed it out til the end & caught my set (Melting Man). I was sure everyone would bolt after Icey, but most of you stayed and rocked with me, THANKS> Anthony-2WARS

All I have to say is that they should make a new kind of cheeze and call it Icey.

I've never been a big fan of Icey as a DJ. I like alot of his older tracks but his newer tracks are mostly bunk. Last night was mostly bunk, I had to leave shortly after 2 because his set was doing nothing for me. Maybe it got better after I left but for the most part, the night re-affirmed my belief that Icey is more hype than substance.

The Perverts were okay but their sound rig just didn't sound right, all highs no bass. Icey on the other hand was LOUD! The extra sound would've been good had decent beats been played.

The turnout was good was good though. Respect to the Detox guys on the first of their special events tuesdays.

it was fuckin EMPTY when i got there, but it picked up pretty nicely. IT WAS CHEAPER AT THE DOOR?!?!? i went down after work and bought a ticket only to get there and find out i coulda saved a dollar and the mission downtown...

some wikkid traxx were dropped, and there was nuff room to dance, and icey and then melting man had me going sick for a bit. i just hope that enough ppl showed up that they didnt lose money.

respect to the scratch perverts for droppin 'award tour' by tribe, it made up for any other faults i might have found with their set...

damn, ak1200 next tuesday, parties like these on work nights are evil things...

Well, thanks for coming out everyone who came!! I had a pretty good time. I wish the Scratch Perverts we able to perform thier routine they have been working on for a long time now... but the Sound man at Systme took off just as they started and there were some serious mixer problems... One of them was even using his own mixer that he is a custom to... but anyways they did okay for the shit they played on!

Icey was pretty good... Im not really into Florida Breaks, but the Harder shit he was throwin down was pretty phat... Nice 2 step I heard.

Melting Man played a Dope set after Icey... if you stuck around to see him you were in luck!

So... thanks for coming out, We'll see ya for Swamp and AK1200!!!!
