I'm just buying floor stompers these days. Fuck all that quirky, dorky, twitchy, "meaningful" crap. Sorry Trev.(ha!). I don't have enough cash flow too buy that stuff. Only dance hall mashers. Can't wait till my next crappy aggressive meaningless track.
aaaaaagggghhhhhhh.......

In theory when I can get out of the little funk I'm in (playing-wise) my next mix will be towards the tech house end of things since my last one was hard.

they'll be in there.

not vinyl but related....

friday's "We Don't Suck" was very taxing on my mixer for unknown reasons.

replacement Power Adaptor
replacement Crossfader
replacement Channel Level

don't feel bad Phil, I'm sure most of it was on the verge of croaking ;)

today i bought a re-issue of minus 1

and a never opened (still sealed) copy of deck fx / 909 featuring the minus orange/nitzer ebb mix... good timing too , since my previous copies are almost overplayed... and 1 is signed by hawtin so i don't wanna play it anymore.

also got that shallow01 feat jesper dahlback rmx. sick.

and oddly enuff, a nukleuz track.. it had a hard techy mix on the b-side. don't laugh. i'm not going back to trance.

Yep, that's the guy...I guess. Steel City records was out of Hamilton. I don't know him, but I think I may have heard a live pa of his if I'm not mistaken. It was back at the Palais Royal on the Lakeshore. I think Jeff Cochran & Murat played there as well. Memory is shaky. It's been a while.
That was quite the tangent. How's the record? I like the first cut on both sides. One side is a kind of Christian Bloch sort of tune. Maybe a mix of Christian Bloch and Arthur Oskan. Synthy. The track on the other side mixes well with Jeff Mills' "Circus". I think it does anyways.
However, you know how some records sound loud and crisp. Mastering or whatever. This isn't one of them. It's quieter and not as clear. I like it anyways. From 1997. I now have 2 records from the label (Steel City).
The other 2 cuts are more in the minimalish stripped down vein.
L-T, I'll definitely play it for you next time I see you.

Wasn't a choice between records or groceries, but I picked this up last night:

UMEK - Zulu Samurai - Recon Warriors (Marco Nastics new label)

Wikked, funky grooves -- definitely going to get lots of play. :)

It's a good series/label. Once you have 4 or 5 of 'em (plus a couple of Zenits) you've got 'em all. I have Question 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 11.

you could say that about most of Carola's work.

buy one from each series: Question, Zenit, Memory Lane, Design, Tritone.

Welcome to the best of Carola .. IMHO a waste of good vinyl.
