its funny how people give tool shit for taking a long time between albums. 16 years is a looming time

Leftfield's first album in 16 years is coming this summer.

'Alternative Light Source', out on June 8 via Infectious Music, will be the duo's third album, after 1995 debut 'Leftism' and 1999's 'Rhythm And Stealth'.

There's a few collaborations on the 10-track record, including Poliça lead vocalist Channy Leaneagh, Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, London artist Ofei and Sleaford Mods, who teamed up with The Prodigy on 'Ibiza'.

You'll be able to catch them live in the UK once the album's out, with shows in Bristol, London, Manchester and Glasgow lined up in June.

Listen to 'Universal Everything' and check out the tracklist and tour dates below. Tickets go on sale at 9am on March 27 and you can pre-order the album here.

As James noted I can 't believe it has been 16 years. Fond memories of both albums and the impact they had on my music taste (and the Afrika Shox video is still imprinted in my mind today).
