I buy 800 thread count from Home outfitters for cheaper then that.
I don't recommend sheets less then 800 myself(*600 is poerfectly fine) as they can be found so cheaply now.
Be warry of cheap, high thread count sheets, sometimes they are only two ply which doubles the thread count without making them softer.
The thing that makes me laugh is that home outfitters, which isn't that great of a store IMO, has 180 thread count sheets(which is enough, really) for over $300 only because they say Tommy hilfiger on a tiny little tag somewhere!
I have a futon right now and I hate it because it squeeks too much when I shit my weight around.
the best is the guest bed in my parents house, they have this down filled cover thing that goes between the bedsheet and the matress so its like sleeping on a comforter. so soft, it melts my soul to sleep there.
I want a new bed! I threw out my old queen size because I was moving too much and didn't have anywhere to keep it. I think beds should totally be an investment compared with other stuff, I learned after sleeping on a couch for a summer that it really affects your quality of life.
