New After Hours Club Opened In Halifax

The Paradox Theatre is now open from 12am-8am every Friday and Saturday at 2112 Gottingen St.

This is a step in the right direction as there are very few venues in Halifax due in part to the restrictive municiple liquor liscense bi-laws that prevent any facility with a license to be open past 1am even if no alcohol is being served at any time in the night.

The new club also plays "rave" music, not the cheesy club influenced stuff that is prevelant in the halifax scene.

Props to Kyle for taking things into his own hands and opening the club.

1am? Clubs with cabaret licences are open till 3:30..the new venue is sweet though....the vew from the uppermost balcony is amazing. I just hope they work the sound problem out, cause the people who live close by complain when the tunes get too loud.

Perfect Combination played there on friday and nobody knew about it. We get a small enough list of u.k drum'n'bass talent in this city, it would have been nice if more people could have known about that event....wicked show though.

Pat Winter - yes but cabarnet licsenses are costly and the city decides who gets them. More importantly however if one wanted to rent a space for a one time event you would not be able to get a licsense for it. In other words if a venue has a normal liqour licsense you can't go past 1am even if you don't serve alcohol at any point in the night. I'm sure you know all this though so don't mind me, I am just bitter.
