Netflix Email Scam

i can't believe i almost fell for this. i received the following email just now:

------- ------- ------- ------- -------
Your Account Cancellation

Your credit card expiration date has passed. To prevent interruption of your service, click here to update your credit card information. For more information, please go to Billing FAQ.

–The Netflix Team

------- ------- ------- ------- -------

everything looked legit. i clicked onto a site that looked like the real netflix site and i almost sent them my credit card info.

then i realized that i used a gmail email account to set up netflix, and the email was sent to my work address.

it's a clever scam, because anyone who has a netflix account that receives the email will instinctively think it's a legitimate email.

Did you "login" on the screen you landed on?

If so you'd better go changing your passwords everywhere.

As for in general, anytime I get an email asking me to login to an account of any kind, I check the link to see where the destination is. If it's not the owners domain I don't click.
