I know it's tonight, but I just wanna get everything prepped so that when I stumble in the door at 6am my review will take the least amount of effort.

And yeah, I am looking forward to it too... remember people, if you want to say "hi"... left side of the stage right by the fan.

Not quite as crazy as I was hoping for. The vibe tonight was turely in the back room with Ludikris.

Jez Ansell was POUNDING the place around midnight, much to hard in my opinion. I was waiting for Halo to hit the decks (which he finally did around 2:30) and was looking foward to his west-coast, laid back style.

Its a shame that this is the end of Nation. Everyone did nothing but complain about how the crowd needed to be cleaned up and when it finally happened you still didn't bother to go out.

Most Wanted brought consistant music and a sense of style every week. They did a great job. Hopefully we'll see another hard house night from them elsewhere or their return to Life after the renovations.

Peace & love. D

Ps. Killalady: I would have said 'hello' had I known what you looked like. I was up by the front left for most of Halo's set as it was...

it was one of those parties in which when i got home, i put on some tunes...

nice sets by all... First time hearing Jez.. and wow.. i'm impressed..
heard some nice deep stuff from HALO...very dynamic set.. had a bit of everything...

Kenny just blew the roof off.. i had the pleasure of watching him spin for a bit.. fuggin brilliant! with this man, his mixing becomes irrelevant, because he's so flawless; what it comes down to is his impeccable taste in music..

All in all... well worth them trip

Thanks Nicole for guestlist! i owe ya!

Well... here's my review. I got there around 11:30 or so and waited in the VIP guest list for 30 mins. I never understood that, you know? I mean, the place is empty inside and people are left standing outside, noone is going in. But yeah, finally I get to go inside and Myka was spinning very nice tunes. I must say, Myka played really good and I am really dissapointed to see that he is not included in any of your reviews. I think he was great.

Jez Ansell came on and he was o...k. He played some nice beats, but I don't know, the vibe just wasn't there. It was all about the vibe in the back room. Ray... umm, something (forgot his dj name), he played really nice beats and everytime I would walk into that room to sit down, I just couldn't, it was great.

Jez Ansell started to play some "downers" at one point and I was almost ready to fall asleep. Something just wasn't there last night. Well, besides the fact that I had to see someone that I really didn't want to...

I was in the VIP room for about 1 hour and a half until Halo came on. He was good, hyped up the crowd a little bit, but again... at one point... it just wasn't there.

I really wanted to stay and see Kenny (for the 2nd time in a row, I saw him last week... HE WAS SICK), but around 4:00am, the music was killing me. I repeat, the crowd was weird and the tunes just weren't kicking anymore.

I am sure that most of you guys/girls were probably right beside me. I was STILL in my corner and danced whenever I danced. I was wearing a brown shirt with little "furries" around the wrist and black pants. I haven't talked to any of you guys who said that will try and find me. Nicole, I still haven't gotten a chance to talk to you. (again!)

Great to see George and Pete again, thanks for the company, George thanks for the drinks. Kenny, damn you're too funny, you scared off that poor girl...
wink.gif

Very happy to see you Jay, although you looked tired.

Saying hi to my best friend, hope you had fun, girl... Lindsay and Ian, Robin... and whoever else.

DJAlchemy, I think I saw you, but obviously I didn't know you, so I didn't say "hi". I have no pics from this party, but I have from the week before, so I will post some. Next time, don't be shy and say hi, ok?

Thank you Nation for great events and looking forward to see where you will decide to throw parties again.

I got there at about 1:45 in the morning. Jez Ansell was spinning some chill house in the main room and Ludikris was ripping it up in the back. There was about 15 of us in the group so the vibe was cool and everyone was ready to have fun. I noticed that there were people there with video equipment... a documentary of some sort ?

Anyhow, the place was filled with beautiful women and we had plenty of skunk to last us through the evening... Sydney Blu was playing some very funky house, the first 6 or so tracks that she dropped were D-I-R-T-Y ! We were all dancing and smiles were on all our faces.

Halo came on just after 2am. ~side note~ (his girlfriend is mighty sexy). He played a very technically sound set. His mixing was very good and he dropped quite a mix of tracks. His varied selection and ability to mix it well impressed me to say the least.

It was after 4am, I was tired, I was burnt out, my shoulders were sore and I was hungry.... but then I saw him. He was standing in the dj booth waiting to take the helm. 'El Presidente'...... 'Sir G'.. Kenny Glasgow ! After running to the back room to grab everyone, I rolled up a nice 4-paper to get me ready for Kenny's set. It was nice to see that even at 4:30am... people cheered for Kenny when he stepped up to the decks. Respect. His mixing was flawless as usual. This man knows his tunes inside and out. His layering is phenomenal. He played a bit harder and threw in a few touches of funky electro madness. Kenny Glasgow is one saucy bitch.

By the time 6:30am rolled around I was ready to die. We left, hit McPuke's for some brekkie and went home.

Nicole, Ronnie, Alex, Brook, Stephan and everyone else from Life that I've had the pleasure of meeting... thanks. You're all super neato !

I'll be posting the pics that I took sometime in the upcoming week..... keep an eye out for 'em.

Looking forward to running into all of you again when Nation returns.

Safe travels,

Well I decided to go to life for the first time due to all the sketchy things I have heard in the past. I really wanted to see the place and hear one of my favorite producers (halo) play that night.

But sitting in the line with a bunch of idiots with bouncers that are only letting people in that grease them made me sick. I was right at the front and turned to my friends and said lets get out of here. I should have known better then to leave my home Element.

I think a major problem in the area that the club is in. I attracts a bunch of idiots. I heard that kenny and halo rocked it. Sorry to all my friends that were loooking for me there.

I just couldent do it!

Suke, were you there? I wish I would have seen you...

My night started off at 10pm at Madbar. Jeff Chow let my buddy, Ryan B, spin upstairs for his birthday party. We got silly drunk. I must say, Madbar was rockin', even downstairs where it was hip hop and reggae. Jeff, Rob Selecta, and Rob A. really know how to treat the party peeps. Oh, the birthday boy Ryan B killed it with some nice selections, including Circulation & Fisherspooner.

At 2am I literally stumbled nextdoor to Life to find the place jumping. Jez Ansell was on the decks playing some pumping progressive. At about 2:30am, Halo stepped up and dropped some really funky west coast house. His mixing was spot on. The vibes were very nice, and from what my buds told me, Sydney Blu was destroying the back room. I strolled in there to find Ludicris movin' the crowd. I would have loved to stay to hear the man, Kenny Glasgow, but I was dead beat from a very long night.

Nation has brought in way too many world class DJs to name them all. Respect goes out to Ronnie and Nicole and everybody else involved for always giving it a maximum effort. Where are we supposed to go now on a Saturday night?

Let's hope another night starts up soon...

Suke, I didn't see any of you guys that night. I was upfront for The end of Jez's set and the beginning of Halo's.

Peace & love. D

Went to this party with Cosmicboi, not really expecting to have a great time, cuz of what happened the last time we went. Well, my doubts were put to rest by the end of the night cuz it was a wicked jam.

Still a lot of payoffs going on in the line up, but at least we had guest list this time, so we didn't get kicked off line, and didnt hafta wait an hour and a half to get kicked off.

Jez was on when we came in, and heard so many familiar tunes that I have in my arsenal of rekkids. His set was on point and was actually good, since I've never heard him spin before. Heard him fuck up large one time, but I think it was cuz Caroline was distracting him. She probably used her powers of celebrity-ship to get into this party for free..again..oh well. Halo's set was pretty amazing for me. Mixing was on point and tyte. The entire set seemed well thought out. Good job. Kenny did his usual in tearing the roof off the place. That was the first time I've ever seen him get into his set behind the decks. Mind you I've only seen him spin 3 times, including Sat. night. Not as exciting as seeing Deko-ze go buck, but cool nonetheless. He's got some moves yo!!

Stayed till the end, got invited to go to Deep Dish at the coat check line, and left the party with a smile. Overall a good night out in town. One bad point: BPMTV camera lighting up the whole place.

^^^ Caroline takes so much UNDESERVED slack!
I doubt she was the reason he trainwrecked.
and good for her getting in free if she can (and if she was covering the event then of course she should get in free)...
let me guess you would wait in line and pay full price out of principle if you were her right?

What was with that stupid camera and bright lights. Everytime that camera appeared I would just go to the other room. Then 15 mins later it would appear in the other room! Then I had to hide in the vip room for a bit ==== buring a spliff :p.

Nesta ... I was only there for about 15 minutes. Was gonna call you earlier in the day, then I had to do some stuff and totally forgot. My bad. I gave Halo I think 15 minutes and I wasn't feelin' it so I flexed. He brought th SVT's (SummerVibeTracks) and I know he can rinse a crowd propper. Catch him at a BP and everyone will hear the difference. when I got there around 2:30am the place was kinda thin.

As a matter of fact yes. We had a whole email conversation about that, concerning the bouncer Huey at System. She knows him and thats why she gets in for free. I know him, but don't ask for any favors. I just wait in line like everyone else.
