NASCAR - No more Rusty, who now?

I have been a Rusty Wallace fan for years and after watching some of the Daytona qualifying today, I am having a difficult time picking my next favourite.
Maybe the obvious choice would be Rusty's team mate Ryan Newman, but after hearing rumours that the two didn't really like each other makes it hard to do.
I would like to back one of the younger guys (other than jr.) that shows promise and a good attitude similar to Rusty's.

Any suggestions or feedback?

I don't mind Kahne, Edwards is bit to geeky.
Is it too early to jump on the Martin Truex bandwagon?

I have liked Martin Truex the last couple years in the Busch series but i am not sure how well he is going to do in Cup right off.

There is no question he has the talent. I just worry about DEI. I am not so sure last years results were a one time thing. Even if they do improve you know Junior is going to get all of the best stuff. Mind you JR. and JR. and pretty good buddies so that should help.

I just think something is missing at DEI. When Dale Sr. died, Theresa was pushed into the spotlight. I don't think she ever really wanted to or wants to be a car owner. She was happy supporting Dale but I am not sure it is her thing. It seems to have trickled down.

I don't think it is a coincedence that both DEI and Childress have struggled. Losing Dale sr.'s leadership was huge. I think they have really started to feel that the last two or three years.

I think we might be getting closer to the day where these two teams merge. They always deny it but it just makes too much sense.

Even though he doesn't have a proper NASCAR name, he helped my Dad win money off his "I know everything about NASCAR" neighbour a couple times last year.

If i'm forced to watch, I still root for Jeff Gordon...
