My God...Mr Glaude!

How excited do I get, everytime this man comes to Toronto??? Tonight, like every other time I have seen him, was one of pure hard funky beat driven insanity!!!!
I was totally impressed by Evil P's old school warm up for the evening as well. Holy old school tracks or what, I was thrilled! He was so much better opening, then any set I have heard him play towars the end of the night. Honestly, tonight felt very "partyish", not the ususal Saturday evening at Soundbar...I loved it!
Im just glad that I got another chance to see one of my 3 fave DJ's this weekend, it's too bad I have to drive back to Windsor in the morning, cause I sooooooo want to stay to see the one and only Dream Weaver at Tonic Wednesday, BOO-URNS to that! I will for sure need an update!

I have one word for last night.......BORING!!! Towards the end of Evil P's set i was almost falling asleep, i was thinking, "donald glaude is going to come on and change it up" but no.....he was funky for about 10 minutes throughout his whole set. A waste of $20.

What a dissapointing night.....

System has taken $20.00 and 5 hours of my life that I will never get back.

It's clear that some imposter had taken Donald Glaude's space up in the Dj booth, robbing every patron of what should be their right to see the Dj they overpayed for! I've seen Glaude before, and this was no Glaude! How do I know, well....

...Donald Glaude knows how to mix a record. The 'imposter' did not. Couldn't throw in a proper mix to save his life. Pure trainwrecks all night long.

...Donald Glaude has great records in his crate, and also knows how to put them in the correct order so that they both compliment each other, fit with the crowd's energy, and build a tight set. The 'imposter' was clearly a very poor set designer. He banged funky house into techno, (what I like to call) boring house into Italian-style techno, weird laser noises, all mashed together with no clear direction (unless the idea was to confuse the crowd).

...Donald Glaude also knows how to scratch. Well this 'imposter' knew how to as well, but in a kind of different way. The 'imposter' liked to take a song, and scatch away every single beat in the track, so that it sounded like one horrible noise for 30 seconds at a time. Not to mention putting every single dancer in the club way off beat.

Fooled again! I think i'm gonna have to wait outside a club to make sure the actual Dj i'm paying to see goes in, before I fork over my hard earned cashola again.

The only thing that saved me last night was the company I was in. Svet and Tom, it is always great to party with you guys, although it wasn't much of a show. Thank god for laughter, because if it wasn't for the jokes, I don't know what I would've done.

oh, Evil P was pretty good. Man.... he played some really old tracks. At least he could get my feet 'a movin'. I was way to put off to stay for Addy, who i'm sure destroyed The Donald Glaude Imposter.

i couldn't believe that i was on the guestlist and still had to pay $20. after a great experience last week, this pitiful nite out might have lost any enthusiasm that i might have had to go to system. I was starting to think this could be a great place to go every week, but how wrong i might be.

donald glaude was terrible. a few fun songs here and there, then he went back to sucking ass. it's so sad that the best tunes always seem to come out of the back room. but i'm not about to pay that much cash to hang out in the back room all night.

i used to love evil p, but last night i found myself asking "why?". nothing too inspirational about his set. vip lounge was ok, but not as good as last week by any stretch of the imagination.

overall it looks like i'm gonna find another club to go to on saturday nights. you can hype it up as much as you want, but if the product aint there.... see ya!!!

Over all a fine evening... sorry I lost you shawn... spent most of the later evening in the DJ Booth.
I wasn't in the mood for dancing really, but IMO Glaude was having a great time rocking the crowd and the crowd seemed to enjoy it.

It was a bit of a change from the normal Saturday night music...

I'd like to thank Evil P for dropping Follow me when I was walking in, memories... good ole Classic house.

The music was all over the place IMO that evening... right from my walking in...

Lots of people complaining, but it was fine for moi...

kenny, i looked for you before i left, but you were no where to be found. i figured you were in the dj both or something.

as for people being excited... look at your pics... i see a lot of fucked up people near the front. and let's face it, some people will get all excited just because the dj is a big name *cough*pauloakenfold*cough*. if his name was billy bob shabadoo, no one would be impressed. donald did play well for about 20 minutes, and then he went back to sucking ass. that's my two cents at least

and i would agree that it was nice to hear "follow me" when we first arrived.

overall... disappointed.

The music was good but it was Too crowded!!! I went with the intents to meet up with someone, and didn'y even bump into them 'till I was leaving. Sooo dissapointed Maybe next time...

This nite overall started out really well at a fun birthday dinner but everything went downhill when I hit System. Evil P was bangin it out pretty nicely but I find he starts to play way too proggy for thier saturday nite. I want to hear funky house, not chugging prog basslines. But I figured it did'nt matter since Donald Glaude was stepping up to the dekks. But I could'nt get into his set at all either. I found the scratching really annoying and excessive. Also his cuts sounded off, which made things worse because when I tried to get my schwerve on the beats would stop. Not the typical bouncy, funky tracks either.

Sure sign that something was not right, PingAngeL and Par-T were basically just standing there.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Well I have to say that I had an absolutely AMAZING time!! It has been a while since i've rocked it out to house, and I'm so glad i did!!! i thought Glaude was wikkid as usual! His set was kinda all over the place, but still wikkid. He threw down some hard ass fukny beatz and i could NOT stop dancing! All of our friends decided to leave early, so me and the jessbabe, and donnie rocked it out til' the early hours of the morning! I'm so gald that i made it out for this night! I'm gonna haveto get out to house nights more often!

Had a blast.So some stuff was a little off,oh well.
There could be plenty of reasons.The mixer below the the decks instead of in between them would make scratching pretty difficult.Donalds energy is worth 25 bucks to me anyday.Hes not one of these big name Djs who get so big and just stop trying and their sets aren't worth a squirt of piss.He comes out freakin' every time.Perfect excuse to yell and scream and dance around like an fool,always good times!
( I think the yellow hair again would help though)

to the people at system, all those speakers lined up in front of he dj booth need to go! why?

-all that bassin your feet is annoying; yeah it's nice to feel the bass but it's much better to HEAR it

-it keeps you from getting close to the dj and from that distance you mostly end up seeing the reflection of the glass

-people end up using them as chairs that further obstruct your view of the dj and it does no add to the vibe of a party to look up and see a whole row of people sitting instea of dancing

-people use them as resting places for their water and end up pushing their way to the front every 5 minutes to take a sip

meanwhile the seats at the back have been replaced by another bar, so instead of being able to relax and take in a stellar view of the party before you chances are you'll have to lurk around like in a mall food court waiting for a seat to snatch. what was wrong with the bar that you removed and all those nicely secluded seating areas- are your partiers really that sketchy that they can't be trusted to not always be in full view of the whole club?

sometimes change is good, but in this case.....

i know that this isn't really a review and the changes were made almost a month ago but i just had to get some stuff off my chest

Worst set to date from Donald Glaude. Only a couple of funky tracks.
BUT I have to say I still had a ton of fun with you guys.
The laughter we shared did me a lot of good.
