My co-workers are geeks!

They are nice people but they need to get out more. Working in the computer industry is not cool sometimes, there is no one from my work I would hang out with outside of it. Also their sense of humour is so dry that I have given up at giving a fake laugh at their jokes.

They need to get out of the computer and see the outside world!

I can relate. 75% of my co-workers dont do squat. They hardly go out. They just talk about tv shows and such. Would not picture any of them at a club.

Same here... my co-workers are nice people, but the really need to get out more.

It's so cute to see them getting excited over a discussion about astrology... I love that too, but then get so into it... they get all red and then start drawing pictures... LOL

but try finding out more about their interests before stamping them with the geek tag just because they may elevate the importance of something you've discussed on a msg board already.

If you think they should get out more, invite them.
you'd be surprised how people can be outside the office.

Just cause people are different and don't have the same interestes, doesn't make them geeks. They could think you're all a bunch of freaks, doesn't mean it's true.



Personally, I prefer not to involve work with play.
I don't care to tell them or hear about what goes on in the weekends, anymore than the basic chit-chat.

Agreed! I think that if there are cute girls here, they probably all work on one floor in one department that I've never heard of.

I work in the IT dept of an insurance company. It's all old ladies here.

I was the youngest person in my department (and I believe on the entire two IT floors) when I started working here, and I still am almost two years later.

There's a couple of people in my immediate department who I know go out and stuff, but that's where it ends. Most of the others are into family type stuff.

I don't go out with them because I have a different life then them and I like to keep my work life seperate. Also they are nice people but their jokes are so bad it honestly kills me.

There is actually a couple of people that are alright but they are just into different things then myself. And just because I do what I do doesnt mean that everything else is not cool.

Honestly I think they just need to get out of the computer books and into the joke books!

The name of that department is Xanadu (located on the mysterious, "non-existent" 13th floor)

General work in the Xanadu department consist of hot oil massages, Bra & Pantie pillow fights followed by nap time. The afternoons are spent playing golf followed by team building sessions of playing network video games with a bag of herb and case of beer.
