although i'm looking forward to hearing some banging new tunes, there are a few favourites i wish i could hear these guys throw down...

stage one - space manouevres
breeder - nyfm
any science dept track...(but in particular the funk function mix of persuasion...)
sasha - xpander
bedrock - heaven scent...

i have to admit to getting a little bit excited for this weekend...i haven't seen them since shock presents element in montreal in '97 (just found my ticket) & i wouldn't even classify that as seeing them since we couldn't figure out what time they were going on at...so i figure this is a first...

any tracks you would like to hear this friday???...sasha & digweed anthems...

S & D better throw out some older tunes or i'm gonna be peeved.

I've been gasping for a 96-97 prog set recently...older stuff should not be forgotten.

Hearing this on friday would make me lose my marbles (although John Graham released it under his 'Quivver' alias instead of his 'Stoneproof' alias) :D

Here's another track from days gone by that I'd certainly love to hear:

Schiller - Ruhe (Humate)

And either Heaven Scent or Xpander would definitely kick ass as well, those tracks are priceless...

Three more day's to go -- is anyone NOT excited?

Out geek the geek?

Don't think so... :p :)

I was quite sure it was released under his Stoneproof guise, and I checked. All discographys have it listed as under Stoneproof, a friend of mine has it on vinyl and its Stoneproof on that as well.

PS. I'm so sad.

Tilt - Headstrong (Relentless vocal) Wicked song, and all the times I've been out I haven't heard it once!
And for some classics:

Sander Klienenberg - My Lexicon
Scorchio
Xpander
Albion - Air
FSOL - Papua New Guinea
Datar - B
Dune - Boomerang (quivver mix)
And pretty much anything off his GU003 CD, which I'm definitely bringing to get signed!

Hmmm....
If you've checked up on this, I'll take your word for it. I was going by the title used on GU-SanFran. However, GU titles are sometimes a little off... Take the "Funk Function mix of Persuasion" posted by djcheesewhiz for example, I have this, and the track is actually called Repercussion. Persuasion is the cut on the flip (which is not the track on the cd -- not even close). So my apologies for the mix-up. As for "out geek the geek," what is that supposed to mean?

The Light - Panfried

Orbital - Nothing Left (Breeder Remix)

Doi-Oing - Blue

Bedrock - Voices - any mix would suffice

yeah...often the tracks are basically promoed for the GU's (at least in the past) ... so you wonder if sometimes the titles are working titles & then get changed around a little for wide release at a later date...

Forgot about that...

Well we are both right then, on the GU it was released as Quivver, but on vinyl it was Stoneproof. *shrugs*

As for the geek comment...

I'm a geek, I mean who seriously would give a fuck about trivial music knowledge like who produced what and when but geeks. It was a joke, we were correcting each other. Hence one geek out geeking another on useless music trivia. *shrugs again*

(Just in case, the "PS I'm so sad" comment was regards to the fact that I even took the time to double check and look at discographys to determine what the correct name was)

And to continue on with the thread. I would also like to hear...

LSG - Netherworld
Rabbit in the moon - Out of body experience
Bedrock - For what you dream of (full on renaissance mix)

And for something going way back... :)
Juice - Do it Right (funkin for Italia Mix)<-- Seriously how fucking cool would it be to hear that?!?!?

I agree! We are sad indeed! Oh well, worse things could happen... Like the party ending at 4:00 AM for example.

Why play classics all night?

No offence to you guys, but I'm wondering why you want to hear all of these older tunes.

Last I checked, this wasn't 1997.

The odd classic here and there *would* be nice (Sasha and John are known for dropping the odd one), but I'd rather hear some future classics and forward thinking music than a set full of classics.

Dark and Long would be nice though...

Cheers,
Jay K.

I don't want a set full of classics, just 1 or maybe two from the list provided would be nice. I've been listing just all sorts of favorite stuff that if I were to maybe hear 1 of it would be a nice little cap to what I think will be phenominal evening. Plus it gives me a reason to go and listen to my older stuff again! Wheeeeee

Digweed played this when they were at the Guv't on Canada Day a few years back early in the morning....absolutely wicked.

I'd like to hear Orbital - Lush or Underworld - Dark and Long, but I'm really looking forward to hearing some new Sasha tracks.

I'm with Kalemic on this one. One or two of the tracks on this thread would be icing on the cake. Other than that, I want an earful of tunes that I will not be able to get my hands on until next year (those lucky bastards!). I think we all want to hear the "forward thinking music" that you speak of. That is, after all, what many people go to S&D events for in the first place. One or two sentimental reminders of the past (and subsequently, reminders of the S&D legacy) would be very much appreciated though. At least by me anyways.
