its actually Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me", released on Motown in 1983.

all remixes of this are boots, so i'm not sure which one you're talking about, though i must say that no remix that i've heard comes close to the goodness of the original.

He's right.

Except I believe MJ did the vocal loop for Rockwell.

yeah it does sound an awful lot like mj.

that said, the record doesn't list him in any of the credits.
that and there's quite a bit of talking and nonsense vocal nonsense going on in the original that starts to sound not that much like mj after all.

but... then again they don't list any of the vocalists here on the single i have.

hmm... well now i'm kinda curious about that.

also, i'm thinking i should bust this tune out this weekend!

This is a good record

Rockwell's tune has an awfully curious history attatched. This record was done as a favour for a Record Executive on Motown, because they (the Exec') were going to use it as a present for their child's birthday.

Bizarre, very very bizarre. Like, who would patron Rockwell and MJ to do this type of tune in particular - it's creepy, IMHO.


(Also, all the boot's don't compare; the original's out there all over the place - check Kopps Vortex, or Ric's!)

i know the one dave without even listening.

i remember seeing a listing for it on some website maybe 2 years ago, but can't tell you the name.
i do remember that the title is almost exactly "somebody's watching me" or some variation on that theme - but it stayed more or less true to the original name.
or at least the first round of boots were title that anyway...

it's on the colorz label. there were actually 2 colorz releases of remixes of this song. 3 mixes on each release but they're all quite similar. i've got an extra copy of each that i might be able to part with dave.. i'll take a look around for them.

i have the original album that "somebody's watching me" is on and it gives credits to MJ for backing vocals.
