Just a heads up for all the pot heads out there that next Sunday will be the annual Million Marijuana March. Here are the details:

Million Marijuana March
Sunday, May 5 @ 2:00pm
Nathan Phillips Square

I went for the first time last year and had a good time... nothing like the freedom of sparking up outside, right in front of the piggies...

How wrong you are!

This is a march about both freedom and poverty!

FREEDOM--freedom do smoke whenever and wherever I (and you) want.

POVERTY--hmmm....poverty because I'll (you'll) end up in poverty from spending all my money on it...so we march....umm....for cheaper weed? Yeah. :D

i participated in this a few years ago, they had a speaker there from BC, I can't remember his name but he went to jail for smoking a joint in his own house for like 10 years... anyway, I was interesting and would have been more so if he actually had something to say.... we should have a tribe contingent and tkake turns sampling eachothers..... we can PM eachother if anyones going down..... then maybe BB if the weather is nice....

I think the most reform I want pot laws to get is for posession to be decriminalzed.. and that's it.

If pot were to be legalized.. I think 80% of current pot users would dicipate, corporations would capitize on it's production and target young impressionable markets that cigarettes do currently. Pot would be branded as the new 'cool' replacing cancer sticks, governments would use it's laws against civiliians targetting home growers for not buying from legal sources.

Just look at how the government is abusing current marijuana laws, raids of growing facilities exploded exponentially since the posession of medicinal marijuana law came into being.

Not only have they delayed the distribution of the government grown pot indefinitely, they are using the new law as an excuse to crack down on current growers by insinuating through action that since laws are in place to attain marijuana legally, any growing operation is that much more illegal.

So out of the 900 some odd people that have the card to legally posess medicinal marijuana, all of them are still procecutable since the "legal" medicinal marijuana has not, nor will be distributed.

What a fucked up system..
the government pulled one over on us this time..

i HAD THE SAME DISCUSSION THIS PAST WEEKEND, I 100% agree. Here's a twist, Tobacco companies will be the ones that legitimize Marijuana, not public pressure, not medical need, tobacco companies,

think why....$

Exactly.. they are just playing out the cigarette market, then they will start lobbying for marijuana reform for the sole purpose of lining their pockets.

The U.S. is too anti drug to reform it, so it WILL start in Canada and in Quebec to start. Why Quebec? Because Quebec is the furthest society in North America effected by American political pressure.. so that's where they will plant the virus.

It's a fucking sad reality. So kids make sure you know what the hell your protesting for, and don't jsut go out there to smoke a hoolie and hack some sack.

what a mad change it would be though if marijauna was decriminalized. Im in favour of it, but it would have to be properly done so that it doesnt explode - so to speak - into a really bad thing. Im not sure of the situation in Amsterdam, which of course, is home to a decriminalized stiz.
Could you imagine if you kid was just chilling out, smoking grass that he/she bought in a vending machine. I wonder if the prices would drop....

what a silly thought.

Amsterdam's laws dictate that marijuana is still illegal to posess grow or sell.

The reason it's so laxed is that the society and government turn a blind eye to it because of the tourism it generates. But if they wanted to (MK Mirage can vouch for this) they could still proscecute you in Amsterdam to the fullest extent of the law, which is not unlike ours.

Most people are under the impression that if it were to be decriminalized, the common person would have the freedom to do whatever they want with the scrutiny of the laws.

Wrong. Marijuana if legalized will be a controlled substance by the government and attaining it would be even harder than before. Growers would be prosecuted harder and more often, and I can't even begin to think what unjust wrath will fall on the users heads.

I'm telling you, legalization is not a good thing. All we should lobby for is decriminalization for posession. And that's it.
