how do you say merry christmas and happy new year in your native tongue?

here's what i've picked up so far:

english: merry christmas and happy new year
francais: joyeux noel et joyeux annee
spanish: feliz navidad
tagalog (phillipino): maligiang pasco/manigong bagon tahon (sp?)
portugese: felish natale

- that tis the season guy

nomi, i've been told there is another language in the philipines besides tagalog? is there really?

yes - tagalog is the official language of the nation, there are lots of dialects depending on which region of the islands you come from. My dad's from the Visayan islands, and his dialect is called visaya - lots of drawls in the language - and i don't understand
it at all.

I love saying "Oh Ha-ppy Honika Darling!" when someone gives me a present. My mom hates it when we have company over and they come bearing gifts.
