I had a really good time.
I went alone, and still had a blast. I got there around 8, and was one of the first people in. A lot of people missed a really nice set by Luke Spellbound.
Madam Zu kicked my ass. That sweet acid trance just hit the spot. And I was right in front, so when she gave me that hypnotizing look in the eye, I was under her total control. I danced so hard, that by the end of her set my legs were in excruciating pain. My feet and I are not on good terms now, because of her.
I couldnt ask more from the sound system, and the lighting was good too. The only problem is that they turned off the lasers early in the night. They really added to the vibe, and their presence during the peak sets would have added a nice touch. The club decor was very well done, too.
I met a lot of great people there. It's nice to be able to go to a party alone and leave with a huge group of friends. The apartment party afterwards was good, too.
I remember a year ago everyone was saying that the rave scene has died, and that everything has moved into weekly club nights, because everyone has grown out of it and there are no new people to the scene. . Based on last night, that statement couldnt be more wrong. I saw an entirely new generation of ravers. There were many younger people, going through the good times that I enjoyed years ago at my first few raves. It's good to see that the scene is contiuing on and not dying off like so many people had thought.
Here is my constructive criticism of the night:
1. It was way too crowded. Whoever's fault it was, the club or destiny, it should not have happened. This is one of the things that can be easily controlled in a production, so I dont understand how such a mistake could happen.
2. It closed early. I do not understand the circumstances surrounding this, but to pay good money for an event and be herded out like cattle was not a pleasant experience.
These two problems are insignificant when compared with how good everything else was. Props to Destiny for another great party.
