McDonald's Canada to offer new Protein Platters
High Protein menu options provide customers even more choice and variety
TORONTO, Feb. 9 /CNW/ - Today, McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited announced the introduction of breakfast and lunch / dinner Protein Platters to its existing menu. The Protein Platters, available in participating restaurants nationwide, have been introduced as part of McDonald's Healthy Lifestyles initiative - a comprehensive consumer wellness campaign aimed at
Canadians of all ages focusing on three key areas: additional menu choice, consumer education and the promotion of physical activity.
"Our customers love our traditional menu, but many are looking for higher protein options. The Protein Platters are designed to further meet the needs of these customers," said Bill Johnson, Chairman, President and CEO of McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited. "The introduction of these meal
options is one example of the many components of McDonald's new Healthy Lifestyles initiatives, which will continue to evolve throughout the year and beyond."
The new Protein Platters offer Canadians the following meal options:
- Breakfast Protein Platter: Two eggs, one slice of back bacon, one
piece of strip bacon, one sausage patty and sliced tomato
- Lunch / Dinner Beef Protein Platter: Quarter Pounder(R) beef patty, one piece of strip bacon, one slice of processed cheese, shredded lettuce, slivered onions, tomato slices and dill pickle slices
- Lunch / Dinner Chicken Protein Platter: - All white seasoned chicken breast, one piece of strip bacon, one slice of processed cheese, shredded lettuce, slivered onions, tomato slices and dill pickle slices
"Protein Platters are only one of the options available at McDonald's for customers with specific dietary requirements," explained Johnson. "Whether you are watching fat, counting calories or cutting carbohydrates, you'll find a meal at McDonald's that meets your needs."
An in-store display will provide customers with additional tips and
suggestions on ways to adapt and modify their McDonald's meal choices to reduce levels of fat, calories or carbohydrates.
