I wasn't planning to go see Brad and Max as my friends weren't going. But as the time drew closer, I said to myself, fuck it, I'm going. So I took my sorry ass and left the house.
I was there early, 21:50 and no one was there, except the bouncers. I was told to go back there in 15 mins time as by then the doors will be opened. Went to Paramount, grab some fries to feed my hungry stomach.
Now, I am fully energized and ready for what Brad and Max had to offer.
Stepping into the club approximately at 22:20hrs, there weren't many people at the club. (I was impressed with the metal detectors...well done.) Some were chilling by the bar counters mingling among themselves. Up the dj booth was Brad Copeland, testing out the system at the same time in preparation for a terrific warm-up set which sets to blow things up later on.
I must mention this, there is this dude, with red hair, orangy-red shirt and bright coloured pants, doing this dance and on occasion blurped out " WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO"... This guy owned!! hahaha.... Some really daring dance moves...I was entertaining myself watching him. Some funny shit.
As the dancefloor began to fill up, Brad was ready to let loose, building up the pace and tempo. Increasing the volume, get the crowd nodding to the nice, flow of progressive music. As the hour progresses, Brad picked up the pace and got the almost-filled clubbers on their feet dancing to every beat that ozzed out of that sound system. Freakin awesome.... I was dancing my ass off and just wished it never ends. I managed to catch a glimpse at the projector screen, and saw a few CDRs being slot into the cdplayer. Then I knew we all are up for a treat. Fuck, it was a freakin blast! Damn, Brad, you sure know how to warm-up and work the crowd really good. Hope to see ypu soon over here again..
Max stepped up shortly after 12:00 and began his set. As soon as Max took over, he started off where Brad left off and start building his set from there. This was where the teasing begins... build up, breakdown and then BAM!! The basslines kicked right in, getting everyone jumping with hands in the air in unison. What a sight and experience... totally off the roof.... This teasing went on and on. And then Sepia was dropped... My God...
And the Canadian Flag... brilliant. Although I am not a Canadian (Singaporean), I definitely felt and sense of unity among you Canadian partiers. Big ups!
Soon after, I had to leave. Things to do the next day. Although it wasn't a all night party for me, I'm glad I went. Nice to meet you, Brad..(you can't reply 'cos you are banned.... hahaha
).
Anyway, looking forward to seeing you both again in the near future.
cheers,
Aaron
