What can I say.......PURE Fuckin'''' HEAVEN.....I just LOVE this guys shit.....I mean his WHOLE set was BEYOND.....truly one of my, if not THE, fave DJ of mine....
Just got home at like 4am and I'm beat from dancing ALL night...It was great to see my pal Jason with his GLOW and my other partners in crime there.I was worried that it was filling up BUT there
was room a plenty....I even saw a clip from the movie "THX 1138" on the big screen which was fitting to the style of music being played...I thought THAT was VERY cool....All in all the BEST time i've had at Tonic in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng time....
Well I have to crash (even though I don't have to get up 'till like 1pm) so I hope you guys had fun too last night....

i was far from myself last night...im sure those of you who know me noticed easily...due
to some outside circumstances and some missing cdr's of some new music...

but brad more than rocked it i'd say...plenty more than rocked it.

hope everyone had fun

public DJ excuses are lame.
WHON WHON

that's like 3 times you've posting saying "sorry, I wasn't at my best."
personally I'd like to see three prior posts saying you were "bang on."

Go get 'em tiger!

I wasn't planning to go see Brad and Max as my friends weren't going. But as the time drew closer, I said to myself, fuck it, I'm going. So I took my sorry ass and left the house.

I was there early, 21:50 and no one was there, except the bouncers. I was told to go back there in 15 mins time as by then the doors will be opened. Went to Paramount, grab some fries to feed my hungry stomach.
Now, I am fully energized and ready for what Brad and Max had to offer.

Stepping into the club approximately at 22:20hrs, there weren't many people at the club. (I was impressed with the metal detectors...well done.) Some were chilling by the bar counters mingling among themselves. Up the dj booth was Brad Copeland, testing out the system at the same time in preparation for a terrific warm-up set which sets to blow things up later on.

I must mention this, there is this dude, with red hair, orangy-red shirt and bright coloured pants, doing this dance and on occasion blurped out " WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO"... This guy owned!! hahaha.... Some really daring dance moves...I was entertaining myself watching him. Some funny shit.

As the dancefloor began to fill up, Brad was ready to let loose, building up the pace and tempo. Increasing the volume, get the crowd nodding to the nice, flow of progressive music. As the hour progresses, Brad picked up the pace and got the almost-filled clubbers on their feet dancing to every beat that ozzed out of that sound system. Freakin awesome.... I was dancing my ass off and just wished it never ends. I managed to catch a glimpse at the projector screen, and saw a few CDRs being slot into the cdplayer. Then I knew we all are up for a treat. Fuck, it was a freakin blast! Damn, Brad, you sure know how to warm-up and work the crowd really good. Hope to see ypu soon over here again..

Max stepped up shortly after 12:00 and began his set. As soon as Max took over, he started off where Brad left off and start building his set from there. This was where the teasing begins... build up, breakdown and then BAM!! The basslines kicked right in, getting everyone jumping with hands in the air in unison. What a sight and experience... totally off the roof.... This teasing went on and on. And then Sepia was dropped... My God...
And the Canadian Flag... brilliant. Although I am not a Canadian (Singaporean), I definitely felt and sense of unity among you Canadian partiers. Big ups!

Soon after, I had to leave. Things to do the next day. Although it wasn't a all night party for me, I'm glad I went. Nice to meet you, Brad..(you can't reply 'cos you are banned.... hahaha

).

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you both again in the near future.

cheers,
Aaron

Now I've met dudes who've had their records stolen - I've met dudes who've had gear taken - I've met dudes who've come home to find everything gone.

But for the love of god...stealing someone's original copy of their current project tune CD is a crime that should be met with death.

If you stole Max's CDs, return them!

Oh, just so you guys have a little bit more insight - I'm not particularly a fan of Max's stuff...but I've spent literally thousands of hours producing tunes in front of a computer and no one deserves to have their labor of love stolen from them. Besides, they're probably not ready to be pressed anyhow...so you'll never make any money on them.

MAX,

My buddies from Korea (Scott, Jeff and Soo-Yeon from Pluralized) told me that you rocked it over there. They said that dropping your shit on their virgin ears was insane.

Missed you at this show unfortunately, but I was wondering if you're gonna be playing in Toronto any time again soon. Lemme know dude. Cheers.

That guy annoys the hell out of me, every time I go to Tonic I have to hear him screeching incessantly.
Shut up please!
So you're enjoying the music - dance, go up to the DJ and show support, even scream occasionally, but constant long drawn out wooo hooos become grating.

I'm done now, review to follow...

I used to give that dude free water at Turbo. According to myth, he owns a dance studio.

Max definitely rocked it last night! I found it to have more upifting tunes then I normally hear from his sets but maybe it's cause it was a relatively short set. Well, CDR's or no CDR's he still knew how to work the crowd.

It wasn't too crowded, and a beautiful crowd as always. There was one girl up front that was wearing a black satin corset; I had to compliment her on her style, WOW.

really wanted to go to this one, but somebody decided to smash in my car window & take my stereo so i decided to just hang out last night & let the insurance dust settle (just had my car stolen 2 months ago, so i'm sure my insurance company loves me now)...

always a pleasure to hear max spin & i've been waiting close to a year to hear brads toronto debut (or at least since he said he was coming
smile.gif
)... glad to hear it was a fun night, sorry to hear 'bout the cdrs (i have an idea how pissed off you are), & hope to see you next time you're in this part of the world...continued success!!!

missing cd's, that's what happens when too many people go into the booth. Too many people make it hard to work properly sometimes.

vench <---enjoyed Max's set and had a good time last night

Max you don't give yourself enough credit. Your set was incredible! We had a great time and enjoyed every track you chose to throw at us all night. That is a shame your CD's were stolen, I knew something was up because you're energy was not as rich as I am use to. I thought you were under the weather or something but the music was great. We danced all night!! Hope you come back to TO very soon!

Got there late, but had a great time nonethless. I was surprised though to look up into the screen and see that Max had left so early, to leave Brad to close. Ah, no big deal, as it was good throughout.
