Why is it that all these system posts sound like they are written by the promoters?

thread moved to party reviews

hi alex...sorry bout posting in the main forum, but definitely not a paid promoter of system (hell i even pay my 20bucks on every visit)

...the breathe evenings have just brought so many people together with a common love for the music, & the djs who keep us dancing every week... i usually post kind words about almost every party i go to (including tribe events, the wabi guys, turbo parties) i don't slag parties i don't enjoy, i just don't post...

i really appreciate the fact i can go out & listen to music i enjoy & end up meeting so many great people...the postivity & general overall community of the breathe nights in this particular thread, reminds me of early nitrous, chemistry & exodous parties where everyone showed up for the music & all other elements of the scene were secondary...everyone who attends (& posts) is passionate about the music first...the love for the music from the likes of nesta, steve, rj, jason, (& everyone else i've met
smile.gif
) is unbelievable (& is eveident from their stories posted here on tribe)...

so not a paid commercial from system, just a music geek who enjoys a little friday night breathe...

john

ps creme - really nice to meet you officially & nesta, steve, gump, rj (hope your exams went well) & everyone else good to meet & hang out w/ you all...

When I move something to another forum it is done for a reason. I was really debating on deleting it altogether

When I see spammy posts that appear to be promotions for a specific club under the guise of regular posts i get wary.
Specifically about System fridays because the promoter for that night Mike Twisted had to be banned from this board for spamming, and because he was using aliases to review his own parties and post 'role call' threads to his own event under a bunch of different aliases.
We are real people here on the TRIBE board, and it is a priviledge to promote on this site. Suffice it to say that if i get any indication that he or any other promoter is using aliases to artificially inflate and promote their events in any forum i will ban those involved outright without further warning.

It is quite easy to see the nature of a person's posts when you look at all the posts from a user at once.

If all they talk about is how good a night is at a specific club and do not have anything else to contribute to the board then it is pretty obvious they are promoting under an alias.

I think if promoters have to resort to this type of promoting it well indicates how lame they really are.

I have more important things to do than watch for this, but those that know me realize i have principles and live by them. Honesty is a key principal of mine.

Fair enough Alex. This is your magazine and you have the right to protect it and it's interests as you see fit. I think we understand that and respect both you and your publication. It's unfornate that things with Tribe and Breathe didn't work out a little better, but that's just the way things go sometimes I suppose.

I do think, though, that Breathe Fridays are going to get glowing reviews from most folks who go.. So glowing in fact that they may very well sound promotional. The real reason is simply that it's developed into a really great night, and the people who go there (many of them from the Tribe crew) seem to have consistently good times.

I won't go on, because I'm pretty sure you know what I'm talking about. Besides, DJ Cheezwhiz pretty much summed it up for me.

I have nothing against the club, and as a matter of fact i like the club, DJs, staff, and Orin the manager a lot. its the one promoter 'mike twisted' that i have no time for. I find him offensive and unscrupulous.
He is the only promoter i have banned permenantly from this site. He will never be able to post on this site no matter what club he is promoting for or what party he is promoting.

But that being said, the moment system follows the few simple rules of the board like everyone else is the moment they will again be able to use the board to promote their events here and have access to all the our site's visitors. Orin the manager is aware of this. He is also aware that 'mike twisted' is the cause of this present situation.

Until then, anything that I feel is SPAM promotion for this friday night at System on the TRIBE board will be deleted..

If you don't want this to happen to your posts i suggest you write them with this in mind when you post about this particular night.
