Matt Coleridge @ Element (Activate)

Once again Element Wednesday's surprises me with a wicked, wicked party. I thought the rain would hinder a crowd, but the place was nicely occupied, as it has been each and every time I've been out.

The music, as always, was great. Serge dropped a nice opening set and Matt proved once again that nobody in the city does Prog like he does. Getting a little deeper and funkier at points, Matt is presenting a more versitile range of selections as of late. With the signature Matt Coleridge drive, this varying style will work awesome in his extended sets. Quality night Activate, Matt. Definitely feeling the effects this morning.

Just for the record, who or what died in the upstairs men's bathroom at Element last night? Blech.

We apologize that Pablo Diablo didn't make it out. His car broke down about an hour outside Ottawa but Coleridge more than made up for it!

Special thanks to everyone who stayed and danced until the end. Last night was definitely the most fun I've had playing in Toronto so far!

I had to leave around 12 due to the fact that I seem to have come down with the flu, but thanks to those that made it out.

don't forget, next week will the the last Activate Wed of 2003, as we will be on hiatus for Christmas eve and NYE. It will also be customer appreciation night, so make it a point to come even earlier then normal.

i sat in a chair and "observed" all night. 'twas good fun though. some girl left her bag in the bathroom and she was like freaking out that it was still there. she's lucky that i'm such a nice and honest person where's my halo?

Stopped by for about half an hour before my tuesday night hangover caught up to me and I couldn't bear to stay any longer.

Seemed like a good time as usual, just too bad it felt like jackhammers in my head, and I think I twisted my ankle too..

Snatched Robin's camera from the jaws of peril and now we're bonded in friendship for life.

Matt played a fantastic set including one dark funky tech-prog number that I just loved. He just kind of dropped it in there without even really mixing it. Awesome.

This is EXACTLY why I didn't go out last night. Lord knows, the heavens would have arranged that to be ME losing my shit all over the club had I decided to venture out.

My gf and I came out last night, after like 3 months of planning to hit this night. Loved the smooth & funky tracks Matt was laying down - been too long since I've heard him spin. Saw a few people we knew, but weren't feeling quite energetic enough to strike up conversations with any new tribers.

Serge rocked it after I was done, gorgeous prog that flowed perfectly!

Hopefully you all consider hitting up Solution at System on Dec 19th (next Friday). I'll be playing 4+ hours to close out the night.
