well, once again a planned quiet weekend turns into two fun filled nights out...i think i'm going to have to move to north bay or something...anyways journeyed out to element this evening for marks now monthly residency & was not disappointed...right from the minute i walked in the door around 2am i knew it was going to be a fun evening...

i know it has been said a million times, but there is something magical about element...anyways many stellar tracks including fuck sonnet, which i have to admit has a sweet bassline & will probably be massive...the system even made drug music sound good (i found this track a little boring when listening to it at home)...a good vibe, lots of smiling faces, the hottest bartender in toronto (sorry but eye has it wrong; it should be a tie at least) & managed to stick it out til about 3:30am...mark definitely was feeling the groove tonight...

i know there is a thread in the general forum about element, but this place is seriously a sweet party spot...i'm going to have to try & get out to it once in a while on thursdays & fridays...

Geeze Cheeze... u were there too?

Um...talk about a "love in" for Mr. Scaife! I realize that he no longer plays there every Saturday as he used to. Word on the street is that he has been travelling.....showcasing that talent. Marky Mark threw down some sweet trax and had the place hoppin'. Nuff folks stayed well into the early A.M. Ah yes the Scaife we know and love was pushing the sound system to the limits and working it behind the mixer. He appears to really enjoy what he's doing.

Did you check out the lady situation? This is why I like the place so much.....it attracts the "older" party person who seeks fun without the sketchy..(um present company excluded!) As well as some of Toronto's finest, fit, female forms.

Yuppers.....Element is a "special" spot in our massive party city.

A fantabulous night Mark......It was rockin' hard - No international DJ presence needed.

Basement of element has gotta be my favourite venue in the city.
Mark is no longer weekly? Who fills in the gaps?

Great set by Mark. Got there about 3:15 and we could feel the heat from the basement as we started walking down the stairs. We made our way through the crowd to the front, put our jackets down and got right into the tunes. Looking out at the crowd, you could see that everyone was right into it. Going to have to make sure I get out for the full night next time he plays there.

Can't wait to get my hands on his new CD

Iwalked in around 2:00 from having a bad night at Roxy to find mark kicking it downstairs. It was just what I needed to make my night turn for the better :)

i was sort of all over the place, but for being pretty tired mark kept my feet moving all night with some incredible tunes...how many times did he get the entire place jumping around & going off...his groove was just a continuance of friday at system (i had actually just planned to stick my head in at system on friday since it was free, but the tunes were so good i just couldn't leave :) ) ...

ladies are always fine at element...on a ratio basis i don't see many other locations bettering element for quality :)

matt, i think mark is only dj'ing once a month now to be able to travel a little more...i was reading the schedule somewhere, but it's a mix of amtrak, gryphon & possibly even gene king on a weekly basis...

i could have even stayed upstairs most of the night on saturday for the sweet house vibes, but downstairs was wicked...a great night...

kul...btw, i was thinking about you when mark threw on the last track......it was underworld "born slippy"....haven't heard it in so long and i was saying to shenny that i wished u were still there...i bounced up from the couches (to rest my poor aching tired old body...i hate being 25) and was shakin the booty all the way to the dancefloor......

Wow, nice to hear you guys all had fun at Element on Saturday night. I also like it there Saturday nights (moreso than Fridays) for the tunes and the 'ratios' :)

I was there last weekend on Saturday night, but got way too drunk way too quickly and had to leave early because as my buddy told me I was getting 'sloppy' (plus I had to work the following day). I am not sure Mark spun that night, for the aforementioned reason.

So when is Mark going to be spinning there next? I'd like to check it out again soon.

FYI, and this may not have a place in this forum/topic, but Film Lounge was once again very good on Saturday night. Place was jammed til 6:30 in the morning to the beats of the ever fine and talented "Girls on Film".

Peace,
T
