Just got back from Tonic after hearing Mark Oliver's set... And I must say, It was fuk'n excellent! Really pump'n prog. from beginning to end. Heard a ton of shit that I haven't heard b4 plus some great classic and current stuff.

some promoter should set up a
Mark Oliver vs. Mark Scaife night to battle for the Prog title of Toronto, hehehe, that would be pretty cool. a battle of the marks.

^^^^^8 decks with no pitch control, 4 mixers, efx, 909, NO monitor, and each dj hanging by his feet from the ceiling with one hand tied behind his back - now that's
the prog battle I wanna see...bring it on !!

Last night at Tonic was much fun. Great to see so many people out for a locals night.

Deko-ze grooved it in; then kicked it up - as he does - and had everyone going off. Mark Oliver followed up with a very solid progressive set.

Excellent night for progressive fans who know!! But then what would you expect having THE ONLY EASTERN CANADIAN DJs on the world's most elite progressive pool (Balance) in one venue on the same night.

Thanks for the positive reviews guys!
If you like progressive, be sure to check out D:Fuse next week- his first time in Toronto-

It should be a sick party!
Look in the Upcoming Events forum for his bio. and info. for the night.
Hope to see you there.

Ok...I would have to agree not a bad night. It was good to see Daniel, Evil P, and the Wonder Twins at the door. And of course a big hug from Beth made me realize that I am among friends. This was my first time back since the "switch over" and it wasn't bad at all.

Dekoze pumped shit up and warmed up the small crowd nicely. That small crowd became bigger very fast. I was starting to get nervous at first as I was expecting a big "Guvernment" crowd because of Mark Oliver - No disrespect, but the "guv" crowd ain't my kinda crowd. The crowd was actually full of the same die hard, get over the hump Wednesday, gimmie somthin' different, boogie oogie, let's have another drink, hotchie mama, I'm stylin' kinda crowd.

Mark Oliver was alright too. Fairly tight. Progressive but trancey. At times technoish...but then he came with the Sarah vocals and then I felt as though I was at the Queen's Key.

People were enjoying themselves. I had an o.k. time. My words of advice to the promoters of the evening are to keep the genre of music of the night less housey. You can go to any club in the city and hear House Music. Myself and others liked the Wednesdays because of the diversity and possibility of hearing Trance or Techno or whatever.....shit....other than house. This little adventure with Dekoze and Mark Oliver was a good start....

Lookin' forward to see what is what!

Go to Release. You can get 9/10 of the Balance pool records a week earlier.
