Ok...I would have to agree not a bad night. It was good to see Daniel, Evil P, and the Wonder Twins at the door. And of course a big hug from Beth made me realize that I am among friends. This was my first time back since the "switch over" and it wasn't bad at all.
Dekoze pumped shit up and warmed up the small crowd nicely. That small crowd became bigger very fast. I was starting to get nervous at first as I was expecting a big "Guvernment" crowd because of Mark Oliver - No disrespect, but the "guv" crowd ain't my kinda crowd. The crowd was actually full of the same die hard, get over the hump Wednesday, gimmie somthin' different, boogie oogie, let's have another drink, hotchie mama, I'm stylin' kinda crowd.
Mark Oliver was alright too. Fairly tight. Progressive but trancey. At times technoish...but then he came with the Sarah vocals and then I felt as though I was at the Queen's Key.
People were enjoying themselves. I had an o.k. time. My words of advice to the promoters of the evening are to keep the genre of music of the night less housey. You can go to any club in the city and hear House Music. Myself and others liked the Wednesdays because of the diversity and possibility of hearing Trance or Techno or whatever.....shit....other than house. This little adventure with Dekoze and Mark Oliver was a good start....
Lookin' forward to see what is what!
